I was fortunate enough to have found Janna Dutton through a friend who had used her for her parent’s situation. Janna did a wonderful job on my behalf dealing with estate issues and helped me to make proper and important decisions regarding property distributions. Her guidance brought definite positive results and my confidence in her ability and judgement were quite high. I cannot praise her enough for walking me through a most difficult situation. Her legal background and expertise were most obvious throughout my dealings with her. Janna is truly a professional who takes pride in her work and truly cares about her clients and their best interest. Her knowledge of Elder Law and Estate Planning can not be stronger. She and her entire Firm come highly recommended.
Dutton and Casey were an invaluable resource and team during my late mother's time in assisted living, nursing home and hospital. Our family unexpectedly needed assistance with ALL aspects of elder care law: neglect, abuse, mental health law, contracts, Medicare, HIPAA, estate and probate matters. Janna Dutton and her team provided unparalleled assistance in all matters of elder care law and quality of care - I was so impressed by the depth and breadth of knowledge, compassion and level of advocacy the entire team provided. They served our mother as a member of their own family - the intelligence, acumen, timeliness, loyalty, tenacity and expertise they brought to all matters was simply unbelievable whether in person, online or on phone. I can honestly say I don't know what I would have done without them - and am happy to give unqualified recommendation for Janna Dutton and her team."
Elder law covers all aspects of planning, counseling, education, and advocating. We are a resource to our clients as we understand clients’ needs may extend beyond basic legal services. This area of law encompasses all aspects of planning for aging and requires a practitioner to be particularly sensitive to the legal issues impacting clients and their loved ones.
It is no longer enough to simply prepare for death through traditional estate planning methods. Death and taxes are guaranteed and require you to at least have an estate plan. However, with increasing rates of dementia and other chronic illnesses, disability planning has become equally important. A good estate plan should consider both the inevitability of death, the possibility of disability, and should make the management of your financial and personal affairs easy for your loved ones.
Guardianship is a legal process where a disabled person receives a court appointed guardian to manage her financial and legal affairs. It is often inevitable where a disabled person has lost the ability to manage their own affairs and does not have a power of attorney to manage their affairs for them. It is also an effective option for a disabled person who is being taken advantage of by an unscrupulous power of attorney, caregiver, or family member.
Caring for an aging or disabled loved one can have devastating consequences for a family, leaving spouses destitute and causing children to spend their own savings caring for ailing parents.
We have the expertise to help you navigate all of the intricacies of probate, including: trust administration, will contests, statutory custodial claims, small estate affidavits, and the issues affecting disabled beneficiaries.
I have been practicing in the area of estate planning, probate, and elder law for more than 35 years and as a result, I have a wealth of experience that allows me to skillfully navigate through a diverse assortment of legal matters. I am certified by the National Elder Law Foundation as an elder law attorney, and have held this certification since 1995

poor social service team
In working with Dutton and Casey I found them knowledgeable but overall I had a bad experience with the social services provided and would not be able to recommend them to others.
