DO NOT HIRE EVER!!

After the free consultation Paul leads you to believe that the case is complicated. Then makes the simple case complicated by lack of communication between anyone. Poor communication, unprofessional and charges for missed calls and even an email when they are the ones who do not communicate. Even ...if this is the last attorney left, do not hire him!!

A formidable litigator - an exemplar, highest rating

In my mature life, I have interacted with dozens of politicians, judges and litigators. Until now, I assumed attorneys were all cut from the same cloth. That was until I happened to retain Paul Chawla as my attorney. The man is a world class attorney, articulate beyond the Queen's highest standard... and a tenacious fighter. If your life were on the line in court, this is who you want to represent you. The retainer was sent. Immediately, facts were synthesized and communication was immediate, concise, and well thought out. You feel immediately protected with a team behind you. Logic and encyclopedic knowledge of the law, along with the gravitas of an executive official. This is the total package, worth every dollar spent. Recommended without hesitation. OK, I will say it...Perry Mason lives. Peter Nichols. 847 735 7377

Unprofessional, Stay Away!!!!!!

I have worked with many attorneys in the past and in my opinion Chawla was extremely unprofessional. He never returned emails or phone calls until he just couldn't avoid it any longer. He dragged out our case for several years to our financial detriment and ruin, all the while racking up the bill, ...but not performing his duties as a representative for our children. Our case was not complex and could/should have been resolved in 6-12 months vs 3 years. He disregarded and dismissed issues that were raised by sweeping everything under the rug, thereby avoiding having to do his job. He was also very biased based on his own views and experiences and made several inappropriate and discriminatory comments during my interactions with him. His own family issues (wife left and took the children) greatly impacted his views on the case. I felt he constantly pulled his own biases and experiences into the case, whereas a representative for children is supposed to represent his clients and interact with parents in an unbiased and neutral manner. I felt he was unable to be objective and neutral. I would never recommend him to work as a representative for children! Representing children is a serious job, one that shouldn't be taken lightly as he did in my experience. He has no backbone, and plays both sides, constantly flip-flopping his position. He will tell you he agrees with you 100%, that he is going to talk to the other side, and then stab you in the back during court. He did this to the other attorneys as well. His report and findings which he presented to the court were extremely unprofessional, after taking years to present something, it looked like he just copied and pasted from other recommendations to create ours. In fact, our report even had the wrong names of the children, incorrect birthdays, etc etc (you name it)!!! You can not trust anything he says, and our children really suffered due to his negligence!! I wish there was a way to take away attorney's liscenses, because he really deserves it. He should NEVER be appointed to represent children.
