I hired LaWanda for my cousin and family friend who were both incarcerated at Cook County Jail. LaWanda charged $600 for a preliminary hearing that never took place! LaWanda was asked if the client would have a preliminary hearing or grand jury indictment! She assured me that he'd have a preliminary ...hearing! Later, I learned from a few other lawyers that no gun case is eligible for Preliminary hearing! This lawyer lied to us, then got an attitude and became very defensive and unprofessional when advised of the matter! She made promises that she never kept! Refused to speak with clients other than on the actual court dates! Did not do her best when handling these cases! We requested a refund and she declined! She did everything last minute and was not fully prepared for court! I did more of the work on both cases than she did! All the running around! Calling and visiting the jails to get information! And I would update her!

Where do I begin ?.. I contacted LaWanda Phillips based on a referral from another lawyer. I was unjustly charged with crimes that I did not commit. The book was thrown at me maliciously and a lot of lawyers were afraid to take my case. I heard things from other lawyers like " Dupage is a different ...animal and I cant beat them or -You can plead and I will work out something with the opposing side." Absolutely not! We swear in to a God in court - Why not use him to fight our court cases? With Ms. Phillips as my lawyer- I heard things like "5 charges dropped", I heard "not guilty" for a charge against a police officer ( can you believe that ?) And right before my day of my 2nd trial I heard CASE DISMISSED on the last charges! Why? , because of who she is in experience, profession, strategy and in CHRIST! My family and I are grateful for her and I would recommend her services to anyone in a heartbeat! I walked away with a clear win and not one charge stuck to me ! #Glory to God!# Victory Belongs to Jesus and those who use him in their profession!

Lawanda Phillips is amazing. From the onset (August 27, 2013) she did what she said. She predicted what would happen, and the case played out just as she outlined. She has a calm about her that raises your brow (because you usually don't see that these days), she believes in her clients and she pr...ays for them. My first contact with Lawanda T Phillips was via telephone call at approximately 7:00am. I dialed her business number with the intention of leaving a voicemail message but to my surprise she answered the call. Attorney Phillips did not ask that I "call back during normal business hours". She instead... asked how she could be of service to me! As I explained my plight, we engaged in a question and answer session pertinent to the case.
