Jolianne S. Alexander

Jolianne S. Alexander brings more than a decade of wide-ranging experience in employment law to the firm’s practice. Her background includes roles as in-house counsel and as an attorney representing both plaintiffs and defendants. Before launching her own practice, she worked at several prominent law firms, including Littler Mendelson—the largest labor and employment law firm in the world—and Laner Muchin, Ltd.

Her work spans complex litigation under the Illinois Human Rights Act and Title VII, as well as other employment statutes such as the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, and the Family Medical Leave Act. She has successfully drafted and argued dispositive motions, conducted trials before the Illinois Human Rights Commission and the Cook County Commission on Human Rights, and litigated a broad array of employment and civil matters in state court. Her experience also includes contributing to trial proceedings in federal court. Notably, she has argued before the Second District Appellate Court of Illinois and the Illinois Supreme Court on a groundbreaking case involving disability discrimination and harassment under the Illinois Human Rights Act.

Beyond the courtroom, Ms. Alexander is known for her effective negotiation skills, having secured substantial settlements on behalf of her clients.

She remains actively engaged in the legal community through mentorship and volunteer work. She serves as a mentor and advisor with the Just The Beginning Foundation and supports law students throughout the Chicagoland area as they embark on their legal careers.

Outside of law, Ms. Alexander is an accomplished musician who enjoys playing the piano, violin, and guitar. She is also a dedicated visual artist. Through her creative venture, Pimento Creations, LLC, she sells her original artwork and participates in art shows across the state.
