Thomas W. Tuohy

From 1984 to 1988, I served as Special Assistant Attorney General of Illinois and founded Tuohy Law Offices in 1982.

I am an attorney at Tuohy Law Offices with over 40 years of experience. I concentrate in providing Living Trust estate plans and small business representation for working-class families.

My passion for serving the community stems from my roots in the West Side of Chicago, where I grew up as the grandson of a police chief and son of a detective. Dreams for Kids, the nonprofit organization I founded in 1989, mentored and trained thousands of youth as social entrepreneurs, and I have represented thousands of police officers and other public servants.

In addition to providing legal services for Living Trusts, Estate Planning, and Small Business owners, Tuohy Law Offices is dedicated to serving every legal need of its clients. Accordingly, a network of experienced national and local attorneys is available. Its affiliated attorneys concentrate in the followiing areas - Catastrophic Personal Injury, Malpractice, Products Liability, Mesothelioma, Wrongful Death, Worker's Compensation, Sexual Abuse, Nursing Home Abuse, and Neglect.

For over three decades, I have been honored yearly as one of the few attorneys in the United States to receive the highest (A/V) rating for legal ability and ethical standards. Martindale-Hubbell has provided such ratings for more than 138 years.

In 2015, the National Association of Distinguished Counsel selected me as one of the select Nations' Top 1%, recognizing attorneys who elevate the bar's standards and provide a benchmark for other attorneys to emulate. Selected attorneys are vetted by independent research of a blue-ribbon panel and approved by a judicial review board.

I was sworn in and admitted to the United States Supreme Court Bar in 1990.

As an adjunct professor at DePaul University, I am dedicated to teaching entrepreneurship and social innovation. My mission is to educate and challenge expectations and empower people to live the American Dream and pass it on to future generations. With the proper guidance and determination, anyone can achieve their goals and make a difference.
