Bait and switch

Do not be fooled by the initial call with Matt and his estimation of what the total costs will be. While I understood it was an estimate that could fluctuate (either way!) I was absolutely blown away when the cost was over double the estimate!! Mind you, my wife and I agreed on everything. We would ...work things out, send it to them and through either confusion or ineptitude the issue would get dragged on and on. Quick questions would be answered with a full letter on letterhead (to be billed, of course) I outlined the specific issues in which they had billed me for time that they needed because they were confused about something we had already dealt with. I asked mr. Shaw to review these issues. All he did was avoid my calls and get his lawyer (the one that overbilled) to call me. You have been warned!

Steve, your email you have “no interest in talking with you” is a painful reminder you’re hurting and angry. We always return calls and I have left multiple messages. When you’ve responded our attorneys have spent time with you on the phone to answer all of your questions, even after the divorce (no charge). You described your spouse as “emotional and manipulative” and that she was moving out. She and her attorney were not agreeable, but we were able to help get you divorced pretty quickly at substantial savings. There was no estimate given, so you may have spoken with other attorneys before retaining us. We even provided you with credits and some free services. We recognize that you may not have had time to process the divorce and everything that your spouse had put you through, and it may be frustrating that she was not as cooperative as you had hoped. My offer of lunch or coffee, and sincere desire to hear you out stands. We wish you peace and healing.

Excellent Attorney

Mr. Shaw is one of the best. He has skillful means: kindness, fairness, communicative, and is highly knowledgeable in law. My ex filed custody motions in two states multiple times over a 7 year period and frankly it was a nightmare both emotionally and financially. We won Custody and then retained Cu...stody over the years. Finally the Judge granted us Court sanctions (very uncommon) against my ex for using the system and her excess money inappropriately filing motion after motion. Without Matt our positive outcome would not have likely happened. When we had to be in Court there is no other attorney I would rather have had by my side than Mr. Shaw.
