Biography
Mohammed O. Badwan represents consumers in claims pursuant to the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, Telephone Consumer Protection Act, Illinois Consumer Fraud and Deceptive Practices Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act, and other consumer protection statutes. Mr. Badwan also handles complex consumer and business bankruptcy matters in federal bankruptcy court. Mr. Badwan is currently the Managing Attorney of the Consumer Rights Litigation Department at Sulaiman Law Group, Ltd. To date, he has handled over 1000 consumer bankruptcies from inception to completion and has handled hundreds of federal consumer rights cases. Mr. Badwan is a frequent speaker at national seminars for his knowledge and background in consumer rights advocacy, including the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys (NACBA) and the American Bankruptcy Institute (ABI). Mr. Badwan has been selected to Thompson/Reuter's Super Lawyers: Illinois Rising Stars Award of Excellence for every year since 2013; which is awarded to less than 2.5 percent of all lawyers in the respective state. Prior to practicing law, Mr. Badwan attended the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana for his undergraduate studies. He obtained his bachelor's degree in Psychology in 2006 and was the recipient of the Dean's List Award 6 out of the 8 semesters while at the University of Illinois, graduating Cum Laude. Mr. Badwan attended Southern Illinois University School of Law beginning in 2006. He was a member of the trial-team and competed against other law schools from around the nation. During the Summer of 2008, he clerked at the Cook County State's Attorney's Office Felony Trial Division.
