Heena Jeelani

I hired Heena Jeelani when my ex went back to court for share custody of our two children. I worked with Heena for a little over a year. Although there were upside and downs throughout the case she never suggested giving up. Instead she always managed to find a new way to approach the case and ultim...ately i ended up winning the case where my ex can see kids under supervision. Heena was always available when i had questions even at night like 10pm and her fees were very reasonable. I went in for a consultation about a divorce with my husband who is abusive and of which I had brought proof in the form of an actual police report and a scar on my face from a separate incident with him. I also mentioned to get that my husband does not sleep in the same room as me nor has he had rel...ations with me in over 2 years. Heenas plan nonetheless was to get me less that the statutory 25% child support for one child that I had with him and claim that out marriage was "bonifide" so that he could pursue an unrestricted green card post marriage. My husband had received an expedited green card (less than 1 year wait time) because I am a military veteran and that meant absolutely nothing to her either. To further add insult to injury, she wanted to charge me close to 300 per hour for her 5ish years of experience (overpriced) which is comparable to an attorney with 2-3 times her experience level. And finally, the entire time I was explaining my situation to her she was focused on bank account information and possible assets, and periodically mentioning that her firm handles immigration as well (not my concern).

She was always prompt, patient with my questions and concerns, and she would always make me feel clear, understood, and reassured about my situation and the divorce process. Ms. Jeelani was excellent and very knowledgable when it came to my interstate custody case. She was able to get me through a very messy divorce and custody battle. Heena listened to my side of the marriage and provided the legal support that I requested - to be fair, but not overly fair & to keep me from being too nice. She reviewed the information that I gathered and with my permission obtained additional documents to support my case.
