DO NOT HIRE!! RUN! NO CONTRATAR, UNA FLOJA Y CERO COMPASIVA.

This Lawyer will try you to buy her for her "sweetness" and "compassion" Well.. you will be on your OWN. She never returns calls to clients, she is SUPER LAZY, always with "personal" stuff that are a total lie. She is rude and will do NOTHING for you. despicable person. Hard to be around her and he...r particular smell.

Baffled by her dereliction

I see from all the reviews that some are happy with Ms. Quinones’s work and some are not. Place me squarely in the category of NOT. I paid a good amount of money to sue my husband for divorce. She initially seemed pretty committed to my cause, but it soon became obvious that she was either too busy t...o put time in on my case or just didn’t care. Either way, it’s inexcusable for a lawyer to handle a case the way she did. I got stood up for Zoom calls, called to cancel numerous meetings, and once the Interrogatories were done she did nothing with them. I did NOT get a bill every month, so when I fired her and disputed the amount I paid for her “work,” I couldn’t verify the dates of phone calls because I trusted her enough that I did not keep track. When I realized I was not only not on her back burner but not even on her radar and requested that she send the Interrogatories that we had worked on and all the material to my new attorney, she just sent some phone logs that weren’t pertinent to my case. I was devastated by her lack of commitment, especially after being cheated on and abandoned by my ex. Giving a one star rating for a bad hamburger is one thing, but lawyers should be held to a higher standard than Burger King. Extremely disappointing experience. If you are having doubts about whether you should stick with her, my advice is while everything is fresh in your mind, start listing all the phone calls she could charge you for, document every time you’ve been no-showed, and don’t hesitate to look for a new attorney. And now she’s running for judge? And brags about how much pro bono she does? She should spend some of that pro bono time on paying clients.

The negative reviews are true

Do not be fooled the last two positive reviews I would not doubt if they were fabricated by her and her secretary boy who answers her phone. She is impossible to get a hold of. She does not do what she says she is going to do and should not be practicing law since she is a negligent. She didn't fi...le a quit claim deed with the court as she said would handle it personally for my mother who doesn't speak English. Its been 3 months and no filing has occurred and she doesn't respond to her phone calls at least requesting the document back. Never hire her or use her for anything. She needs to retire.

I would put no stars if I could.

I was referred to Carmen Quinones to assist with a court order for child support. Carmen Quinones presented a retainer agreement in which she asked me to pay her 2,500 dollars in cash as stated in the retainer agreement. I paid her 2,500$ cash, picked up the retainer agreement which she stated was th...e receipt. Carmen offered to extend my court date due to working mandatory overtime at my job, but then there was no response and court date stayed for original date of 9/9/2019. I called her and texted her on the court date at 9am when I arrived to court. However, Carmen did not show up, she returned my call around 11amand said she would return my call in an hour, I tried to tell her I was in court but she hung up. She only returned my call a week later and told me we had court in October. I let her know that everything was settled on 9/19/2019 and there was no follow up court date. I asked her for a refund of my (2,500$) retainer since she did not show up for court and she just hung up and has not returned my call since. I have called her multiple times, no answer. I call her office and talk to her secretary and all she does is ask for my name and number, and will not address my concerns. This has gone on for three months. She has kept my $2,500 and did absolutely nothing for me.

Does not file motion

I paid Carmen 2500 upfront to file a motion for visitation. She said the motion would be filed in less then a week. Well 1 month went by and still no motion. I called and called. Left repeated messages. No phone call back. Finally I snapped on her secretary and threatened to contact the Illinois bar ...association. This lady is completely ridiculous and inept. Dragged the case along for months and months. Ended up costing more the 5500.00. Oh and she charged me for a visit to her office, cancelled while I was on my way to her, then I received a bill for the visit. Thanks Carmen.
