She didn’t encourage me to pursue things I really wanted that were extremely unlikely to happen. (even though that might have generated lots of fees for her?) But she did negotiate a few things for me that I didn’t even understand the value of until well after the divorce was complete. Everyone had told me how expensive my divorce was going to be because lawyers prolong every little point. Marjorie wasn’t like that. In fact when the other side was doing that she often put the ball back in their court and just left it there until there was something specific to respond to. Marjorie is very direct and does not sugarcoat things. Furthermore, while she is personally supportive, she is a lawyer. She’s not going to emotionally “hold your hand” throughout the divorce (and then go bill you for all that time). She is not a therapist. I needed a lawyer and therapist, so I went and got one. Marjorie worked hard for me, always with my best interest top of mind, and I truly believe that my case was settled with the best outcome I could have possibly gotten. I feel so fortunate I was referred to her and now I am the one referring her to my friends when they find themselves needing a lawyer.

My husband and I hired Marjorie for a post decree college motion after 15 YEARS in the Lake County court system with his ex. We came to her after finding out a judgment had been made against my husband in a case we weren't properly noticed on. Marjorie thought getting the order vacated was a long s...hot initially but after her detailed review of the file she was able to present conclusive evidence that we had not been properly noticed and got the order vacated.
