I have practiced law since 1979 always concentrating in Litigation. In recent years I limit my practicew to Legal Malpractice, excessive attorney fee claims and civil litigation.
I have tried numerous jury trials to completion, I have three published opinions from the Illinois Supreme Court and dozens of written opinions from Illinois Appellate Courts

Best Civil Litigation Lawyer in Lake County, IL
I have known Tom Gooch for almost 20 years and I highly recommend his legal services. His experience in the local courts is unparalleled. Simply put, Tom has the instincts of a veteran barn cat. He quietly stalks his prey - watching, waiting, smelling the air, letting his prey get comfortable - until...

Doesnt seem to care about his clients ust cares to collect retainer.
Gooch is very poor on docketing appearance dates. He's had this weakness all along forcing clients to go after him for blowing the case, because he didnt appear or file on time. I was working with a 300 day deadline, and Me, the client, had to call in and remind him that a most important and key f...
I am aware of who this client is. His comments are simply untrue. This particular client and I parted ways long before any filing deadline approached. He couldnt have been to upset as he kept hiring me for years for new matters. Retainers that have been earned are not returned. Im happy to discuss this directly with anyone without revealing confidential info of course

Hard working lawyer
I took my case to Tom Gooch, and treated me with respect and kindness. He worked hard and when the case was settled, I was more than satisfied. I would recommend him to any one who needs a legal malpractice attorney.

YAH FOR GOOCH
Tom's not only a tough lawyer but he's funny as well. He did a fine job for me suing my lousy divorce lawyer and his parftner Gauthier about ripped the testicles off my ex hubby
"I endorse this lawyer with no reservation. An extremely talented and well respected attorney in the legal community. Very hardworking and diligent. Consistently achieves superior results. Advice is always practical and on point. I recommend to anyone looking for an attorney who knows the law and truly cares about protecting the rights of clients and achieving the most favorable result possible."
"Mr. Gooch's outstanding legal mind makes him a top notch litigator. I would not hesitate to refer clients to him. He is highly respected in legal community."
"Tom Gooch has an outstanding reputation as an attorney in the Chicago area legal community and he has been a leader in community and government positions. Tom's legal advice and counsel has been sought by other attorneys."
"Tom Gooch is a top notch litigator. I would strongly recommend him to clients who need an effective and tough litigator. I worked for him twenty years ago, and I still use things that he taught me in my criminal practice."
"Tom Gooch is known to be a great malpractice lawyer. But I think that, in addition to his specialty, he is a clever and tenacious general litigator who never gives up. If you have a litigation matter that cannot be resolved pre-trial, he will give your opponent WWIII, which is what good litigators are supposed to do. On the other hand, Tom sees a bigger picture and understands that sometimes matters should be resolved outside of litigation, and he is flexible enough to switch gears when the situation requires it."
"I believe you can learn a great deal about someone by reading the words he or she writes. Mr. Gooch's answers on Avvo demonstrate that not only is he very knowledgeable and insightful, but he cares about his clients and will work hard to help them achieve their goals."

“Truly an unfortunate event which made me a much better and more attentive attorney. Some 18 years later, I still remember well what can happen from not communicating well and I am a far better person because of it (8-13-2013)”
