We hired Steve when our son, a junior in high school made a mistake and for unjustified reasons the school tried to throw the books at our son and recommended expulsion. We needed to get my daughter into an alternative school due to social and emotional problems. We were afraid that the school district would deny our request due to the economy, in order to save money. The school district is only required to provide a free and adequate public education. The distric...t seemed to be pushing their own alternative school that seemed to us to be primarily for behavioral disturbance adolescents. They even have the police on staff to collect personal items in the morning and return them after school. This seemed like a "diet" prison to us. Steve was present at the IEP and we were able to get her into an alternative private school that has turned out to be a very good fit for her. Her attendance is now very good, she loves the new school. Her grades recently have been A and B. Steve is very helpful and attentive to the client as is his assistant Joanne. I would recommend hiring Steve if you have the need for an attorney specializing in educational law. We saw Steve based on a recommendation from a personal injury lawyer that my older daughter has hired for a work place accident (WC) case.
