WARNING TO FAMILIES CONSIDERING STEVEN E GLINK

WARNING TO FAMILIES CONSIDERING STEVEN E. GLINK: Parents hire attorneys during vulnerable moments believing they are paying for strong advocacy, strategic guidance, and real action. In our experience, retaining Steven E. Glink felt like throwing thousands of dollars away while receiving little com...munication, minimal preparation, repeated delays, and virtually no meaningful progress in return. We were left constantly chasing updates, questioning whether important details were being handled at all, and feeling completely unsupported throughout the process. Instead of receiving reassurance or competent guidance during an already stressful situation, we experienced frustration, confusion, and growing concern about the lack of urgency and professionalism. What made the situation even more disturbing was that after we had already paid a substantial retainer and saw virtually no meaningful action taken on our case, we were later told that if we wanted to continue pursuing legal action against the school district, we would need to provide an additional $10,000. After the lack of progress and advocacy we had already experienced, this felt unbelievable and deeply inappropriate. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend Steven E. Glink under any circumstances and would strongly urge families to seek representation elsewhere. Do not hire Steven Glink unless you are prepared to spend significant money while experiencing even more stress, frustration, and emotional trauma throughout an already difficult situation. Families dealing with sensitive legal matters deserve transparency, responsiveness, and genuine advocacy, and we strongly caution others to carefully research and consider all options before placing their trust and finances into this representation. After everything our family experienced, I believe Mr. Glink should be deeply ashamed of the level of representation and conduct we encountered during one of the hardest periods of our lives.

This case was about the production of documents. At first, the other side would not produce the documents. I advocated for my clients and got the other side to produce some documents. When I insisted that they produce all of the documents, they produced redacted documents. I argued with them to clear they redaction, but they refused citing different legal arguments. I explained to the client that the only option was to seek a court order forcing them to produce unredacted documents. I explained that litigation is a lengthy, and expensive process. I also explained that there was no guarantee that the judge would agree with our legal arguments. She declined to pursue the lawsuit. The problem was not with me or my efforts, The problem was that the client did not understand the negotiation and legal process. She did not understand that I had to review all of the unredacted documents to determine whether or not she had a viable lawsuit and that without a court order, I could not get the unredacted documents. I put more time into her case than I charged her for. I think if people read all of my reviews they will see that I am highly regarded in my field. I guess you can't please everyone.

He Contacted the District and Their Whole Attitude Changed!

My child has been on forced homebound instruction for the entire school year. As of February, she has not attended school at all. After countless IEP meetings, an IEE, and even an ISBE complaint that found FAPE violations, I was completely drained. Despite medical letters documenting that my... daughter was experiencing anxiety and tension headaches in her prior setting, the district refused to move. They repeatedly claimed she was “too high functioning” for self-contained or therapeutic day schools, leaving her without an appropriate placement and forcing her doctor to order homebound instruction. I reached out to multiple advocates and legal rights agencies, but none were able to help due to the complexity of the case, the existing ISBE complaint, or capacity limitations. Steven Glink sent one email to the district, and their entire attitude shifted immediately. They finally stopped fighting me and agreed to a private therapeutic day school. Mr. Glink accomplished in one move what I had been trying to do for a very long time. If you are a parent who is tired of being ignored and gaslit by your district, call him. He gets the job done.
