Biography
Michelle's legal practice is concentrated in family law and real estate. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from North Carolina State University in 2003 and her JD with a Certificate in Real Estate from The John Marshall Law School in 2006.
Prior to starting Gehris & Associates, LLC, Michelle was a partner in another local firm. She was the head of the Family Law and Real Estate Departments since 2011. Michelle's goal in starting Gehris & Associates, LLC was to provide an atmosphere for clients to not feel like they are just another file.
Prior to joining her prior law firm as an associate in 2007, Michelle prosecuted building code violations with Corporation Counsel for the City of Chicago Building and Land Use Litigation Division.
Michelle is a Court appointed mediator and has served on the Mediation Council for McHenry County since 2011. She is also very active in the McHenry County Bar Association, where she served three terms as President of the Family Law Section and is currently serving her second term on the Board of Governors. Michelle is licensed to practice law in the State of Illinois, the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, and the United States Supreme Court.
Michelle's ability to connect with her clients and at the same time help them through one of the most difficult times of their lives has helped her earn the highest rating of any other Family Law attorney in Crystal Lake on the most comprehensive Attorney review site, .
