Doesn't work! Lies all lies.

Hired Mr. Hunter for daughter. He said he would investigate case and help get children back. Mr. Hunter did nothing but help DCFS. He lied to us the whole time. Now wants more money after he lost the right to children. When went to court we were humiliated and he thought that he did great. Mr. Hunter... not only lost in court and made case worse. He doesn't care about anything but making sure he gets money. My daughter lost her case and ended up in hospital and he called wanting to talk to her in the hospital because he fills untitled to more money. Please do not be like me and waist money. Very sad and heartbreaking.

Greedy attorney

My mother was wrongfully accused of an incident that happened in her self licensed daycare whom she's run for 26 years. The incident had no evidence and no facts. DCFS was out for blood as that is what they do best. My mother chose to hire this attorney Thomas Hunter, I as her son chose to hel...p my mom by getting a $2000 loan to cover the start up fees for him to take her case. At first there was light and hope, then this attorney Thomas Hunter not only continued to charge my parents thousands of dollars with nothing to show as far as progress or information toward the status of my Mom's case. Excuses and claims that he was at the mercy of how long DCFS would process the case was all my parents kept hearing, weeks if not months would go by and this attorney continued to extort money from my parents. In present conclusion, now this lawyer wants another $5000, my mom can no longer afford to pay. Family has helped and given everything we can to prove her innocence. If you are someone who has had a great experience with this attorney and his firm, you must have deep pockets or any easy case to fight. Money is what keeps this attorney fat and wealthy, not his concern or empathy for his clients. My mom may very well lose her day-care, DCFS will win, and another innocent person will fall victim to how poor our justice system and greedy heartless attorneys like this man are. It's a true fact.....in the beginning it's about helping people.....in the end it's about how much you have to pay to get that help.

Poor Advice, Poor outcome

This firm provided too much service for my case. In my opinion, they overstep the needs assessment of my case. They provided plenty of litigation opportunity, but provided almost no creative solutions to mediate, negotiate, or otherwise resolve matters throughtout the entire divorce process. They f...ailed to consult with or take on an additonal attorney who specialized in criminal defense, after my ex-spouse had me arrested twice. He provided poor advice about the criminal aspect or consequences of that part of my case, and now those portions will be on my records for a lifetime, with no expungement or sealing opportunity. His firm also knew in the early stages, about my ability to pay his fees, and overserviced my file, churning the litigation and over extending the discovery process, causing excessive billing. Lastly, the final results of my case demonstrate his lack of ability to successfully resolve my case; my ex moved out of state with our children, I was left with no assets and was left to file bankruptcy because of almost $200,000 in attorney fees, and as of this review, I am back in court, with a new attorney defending from my ex because of a poorly negotiated settlement document.

God awful -- and I mean TERRIBLE!

Can I give less than 1 star? I got divorce +/-7 years ago. He handled the case. I am back in court now compensating more attorneys because the dissolution and modifying documents he prepared are ineffective and poorly written. Other attorneys have stopped just short of laughing at how badly they ...are crafted! When asked if they know him, other attorneys have said --" yeah -- he's a nice fella." I didn't need nice -- I needed effective or at the very least competent! Hunter was PRICEY and did not deliver a product that was usable. RUN AWAY -- FAR AWAY!

Great Attorney

Mr. Hunter represented me on a matter some years ago and the experience was excellent to say the least. From the beginning of my case, he was thorough and always prompt to return my calls and address my concerns no matter how small the issue was. He always made me feel as though I was his only client... which made me feel like my case really mattered to him and that he was concerned not only about the outcome but also how the resulted affected me as well. I do not know any lawyers who have that level of care for their clients and it made a world of difference because he made me feel like he and his entire staff were helping me get through my case. Few lawyers go that extra step to do those things to make their clients feel better.
