Amber Marie Lawrence

I hired Amber for a child custody case, a fairly simple case. It turned out to be a disaster and I had to hire different counsel after realizing that I was not being represented - AT ALL. Amber failed to appear in a Counsel only meeting with the judge/referee, which I have heard from other firms is... a fire able offense. I was called by Amber's paralegal on important matters such as decisions coming down from the court, instead of my attorney herself. I was also forced into mediation and a third party child mediator - who recently told me she cannot for the life of her figure out why my case (which she claims is black and white) has come to her, when there is nothing there. Going through child custody is stressful. You expect your attorney or representation to communicate with you. There were times, at the peak of my case stress level, that Amber and her paralegal were unavailable as they were either on vacation or just simply did not respond. I changed representation after a pretty big decision came down from the judge/referee about temporary child support until custody is settled. I didn't change becuase of the judge decision, I changed because my attorney couldn't even call me with the news - she had her paralegal call me, who is limited on what she can and cannot discuss. So, after all of this, not only did they invoice me, which is questionalbe since she missed THE ONLY appearence with the judge, but they dinged me with a service fee. I HIGHLY DO NOT recomend using Amber or her firm. if I hadn't changed, i was confident my outcome was going to be significantly different than what I believe now. You need someone to go to bat for you, and LISTEN to you. From the minute I switched, my case became stress free - literally - and nearly a slam dunk. If I could rate ZERO stars, I surely would.

She will NOT fight for you. Zero passion in her work. All she does is talk about her "beautiful, funny kids" and "great husband" - while my family is falling apart! I do think she probably had passion in her work at some point... perhaps until she became partner in a firm? Now, not so much. I'd ...recommend putting your money with an attorney who is a bit less self-involved and a bit more worried about YOU.
