I was arrested after an scuffle with my teenage son. I was trying to take his cell phone away, after he had been expelled from school for his abusive behavior to the principle, in the process I hit him. Though this was a one-time domestic assault with no priors, no history of any violence and I had c...alled the police myself, it still resulted in me being charged with a gross misdemeanor and the prospect of jail time! I was terribly frightened about the situation. Marsh Halberg truly came to the rescue for me on many levels. Through his professional expertise my charges were reduced to a misdemeanor with only minor fines and some personal counseling as the consequence. Can't argue with results. Marsh effectively defended me in a brutally honest way, saying something like, "you were lazy and stupid, but didn't intend to [do the thing you were accused of doing]." Actually, I appreciated that candor. Further, he was honest about the potential jury. We steered clear o...f it and went with a plea that I know was the absolute truth. Along the way he insisted that he works for me, and that I could choose. What could have been a felony ended with a petty misdemeanor, and the long-term shame that goes along with momentary idiocy. Marsh was prompt, calm, knowledgeable, light-hearted, and fair. I want to say that he is God's gift to the legal world, but that might be pushing it a bit too far (but, I can include that here because I'm comfortable with the banter I enjoyed with him during the stress of the process).
