Scott M. Rodman is a shareholder with Arnold & Rodman PA. Mr. Rodman’s practice focuses exclusively on family law, including but not limited to divorce, custody, child support, spousal maintenance, interstate and international divorce and child custody, Hague Convention and non-Hague parental child abduction, parental child abduction prevention, third-party custody and visitation,antenuptial (pre-nuptial) agreements, adoption and appeals.
Originally from Buffalo, New York, Mr. Rodman received a bachelor’s degree in political science from the State University of New York at Binghamton in 1999, and graduated with a Juris Doctorate cum laude from the University of Minnesota Law School in 2002. Prior to joining Arnold, Rodman & Pletcher, PLLC, Mr. Rodman practiced family law with Tuft & Arnold, PLLC.
Mr. Rodman was previously an adjunct professor at Metropolitan State University where he taught Business Law to undergraduate students. Mr. Rodman is also a frequent lecturer at legal seminars both nationally and in Minnesota and has served on the Planning Committee for the Family Law Institute in 2014 and 2015.
Mr. Rodman is a Rule 114 Qualified Neutral for Facilitative Mediation by the Minnesota Supreme Court. In addition, he has received extensive training in both Financial Early Neutral Evaluation (FENE) and Social Early Neutral Evaluation (SENE). Mr. Rodman was also selected to receive specialized training in international custody and parental abduction mediation at the American Bar Association in Washington, DC. Mr. Rodman was appointed by Ramsey County judicial officers to serve as one of four attorneys on the Ramsey County Early Case Management/Early Neutral Evaluation Steering Committee, and has continued this work through the Ramsey County Low Fee Custody Evaluation program committee. Mr. Rodman was further appointed to serve on the SENE Best Practices Subcommittee and was selected as a SENE provider on the Ramsey County SENE roster of approved providers.
Mr. Rodman is also the Editor of the forthcoming Divorce Practice Deskbook, to be published by Minnesota CLE in August 2015.
Mr. Rodman has been named a Super Lawyer by SuperLawyers.com and Minneapolis-St. Paul Magazine for 2014 and 2015, a distinction given to 5% of attorneys, and was previously named a Rising Star by SuperLawyers.com and Minneapolis-St. Paul Magazine for every year from 2007 to 2013, a distinction given to 2.5% of attorneys under the age of 40.
After graduation from law school, Mr. Rodman served as a Judicial Law Clerk for the Honorable Cara Lee Neville in Hennepin County, Minnesota. Admitted to practice law in both New York and Minnesota, he is a member of the New York State Bar Association and the Minnesota State Bar Association, and he co-founded an organization to promote positive collegiality and cooperation among family law attorneys in the Twin Cities. Mr. Rodman serves on the Membership Committee for the Minnesota Chapter of the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts. Mr. Rodman volunteers with the Safety Project at Chrysalis, a program devoted to providing pro bono representation for women and children who are victims of domestic abuse. Mr. Rodman also volunteers his time to the Chrysalis/Tubman Law Clinic and the Hennepin County Limited Scope Legal Services Project, where he previously served as Co-Chair.
