Mike Minenko Reference

I will start by saying that Mike has earned our respect as an excellent employment law attorney during the almost eighteen years that we have worked with him. I own a Minnesota company engaged in retail sales with approximately 60 full-time employees and 20 to 40 independent contractors (season...al). About eighteen years ago, I had an issue relating to an agreement that the company had entered into with a former owner. In searching for an attorney, I didn’t want to make a mistake, so I sought the advice of a trusted business associate that had been involved in a related matter. I was advised to contact Mike Minenko. I hired Mike and found him to be deliberate and methodical in his need to verify the facts of my story. Once he had the facts from the former owner’s contract and other sources, I found Mike to be a forceful advocate for my company in the matter. With Mike’s help, after filing the litigation, we were about to resolve the matter on terms that I found favorable to the company. Since that time, I have used Mike on many other employment related legal issues including guidance on: FMLA; Wage and Hour matters; employment contacts; job descriptions; revising our employment handbook and suggesting changes to our personnel policies and procedures; background check practices; revising our independent contractor agreements; harassment investigations; and, finally participating, as an expert resource, during our annual company code of conduct review with all employees. In addition to the specific areas above, he is the first call that we make when we seek advice that requiring an interpretation of State and/or Federal employment laws. I’ve found that that Mike is efficient and is usually willing to talk through issues over the phone. I consider Mike to be an expert in matters relating to employment law and highly recommend him to others seeking specific guidance in the area of employment law.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
