Christopher William Boline

Christopher W. Boline practices business and commercial law, civil litigation, appellate work, real estate law, consumer law matters, personal injury, USDA appeals, and administrative law.

Christopher received his J.D. from William Mitchell College of Law in St. Paul, Minnesota. During law school, Christopher served as a certified student attorney in a Hennepin County suburban court, was an extern with a Hennepin County District Court judge, and received recognition from the Minnesota Justice Foundation for his time devoted to public service. He began working for Dudley and Smith, P.A. as a clerk during law school.

Christopher graduated with honors from St. John’s University in Collegeville, Minnesota, where he earned an undergraduate degree in political science. During college, he interned at Central Minnesota Legal Services and was a coach for the Special Olympics.

In his free time, Christopher enjoys playing golf, traveling, and attending Minnesota sporting events with his family and friends.

Commercial:

• Complex commercial litigation involving claims for breach of contract, fraud, business tort claims, Minnesota Deceptive Trade Practices Act, spoliation,
• Shareholder disputes in closely held corporations and limited liability companies (member disputes);
• Expedited litigation to obtain restraining orders or injunctions to prevent the improper sale of businesses or their assets; and
• Commercial and consumer collection litigation for national and local lending institutions.

Real Estate:

• Real estate foreclosure and defense;
• Quiet title and statutory actions to determine adverse claims to property;
• Torrens proceedings;
• Commercial and residential evictions; and
• Commercial and residential lease drafting and review.

Construction Law

• Representation of consumers and contractors in construction defect litigation; and
• Mechanic’s lien enforcement and defense.

Employment Law:

• Employee and employer representation including non-compete provisions, unpaid wages and commissions (Minnesota Prompt Payment of Wages Act – Section 181), and wage and hour litigation under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA); and
• Employer representation including classification of workers as employees or independent contractors, drafting employment and compensation agreements, and termination procedures.

Government Related:

• Appeal of United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) denial of grant applications;
• Representation of businesses in OSHA violation proceedings;
• Representation of health care company with licensing matters through Department of Human Services; and
• Municipal land use and zoning.
