Did not act in my best interest

If you want your attorney to tell you to "Act like a lady" after you tell him about threats from your husband during your divorce-hire him. I also told him about the domestic physical assaults and abuse, previous restraining orders I had filed, and court ordered anger management classes for me now ex... husband during the marriage- his response, "Minnesota is a no fault divorce state". This is NOT TRUE when it pertains to domestic abuse. After 20 years of marriage to an abuser, my spousal support should have been reserved, if not permanent. I am now disabled because of the abuse caused my ex husband during our marriage. When I talked to him a couple of months ago, he said, "There is a a lot more awareness of domestic abuse now". If you are woman thinking about hiring him to represent you in a divorce action or for any other reason. DON'T!!!!!!

I do not know who this person is since there are no identifiers included in the review. However, since I been a woman's shelter volunteer attorney for over 30 years and have never given anyone advice such as "Act like a lady", I can only reply by saying that this person is clearly confused about who represented her since it was not me.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
