Survivors of Domestic Abuse and Violence - AVOID Ms. Lach

DV SURVIVORS BEWARE. I'm writing to caution domestic abuse and violence survivors against working with Attorney Susan Lach. When I picked her as a parenting consultant* I spent some time briefing her and made it clear how communication needed to flow to protect my mental health. While I have only... had to bring her into an issue twice in over a year, the second time she sent the most tone deaf, insulting, and triggering email that it left me reeling. I complained and sent her links to several online courses run by non-profits that teach how to better speak to survivors of domestic abuse and violence. I also demanded an apology (obviously, not yet forthcoming). Instead of doing any of the above she charged me $80 for my complaint. That's right, her firm thought that it was ethically acceptable to charge someone for complaining about their service. I further complained to the firm and - crickets. At this point, I question both their ethics and their customer service. Their overall professionalism is lacking - ignoring emails and failing to send a notification to all your clients that you'll be on vacation is a failure of basic etiquette, as if failing to appropriately address a client complaint. While she may do a fine job for simple cases, I do not think Ms. Lach should be dealing with cases that require sensitivity, or with survivors. When given the opportunity to take accountability, correct a mistake, and learn from it she chose to bill for it, instead. This shows a lack of self-awareness, along with no desire to improve her communication skills to better serve her clients, and is absolutely disgraceful. SURVIVORS BEWARE, and look elsewhere for a parenting consultant. *To be clear - this isn't sour grapes, Ms. Lach has in the past sided with me in disputes.

Susan is the best!

Susan's thoughtful, timely and knowledgeable approach helped to make one of life's most difficult transitions easier. I always felt that Susan had my best interests at heart, and she worked diligently to ensure that all of my legal needs were addressed.

I highly recommend Susan Lach

I highly recommend Susan Lach. My divorce was very contentious with complicated asset valuations. We went to court, appeals court, and contempt court and won every time. She is very meticulous, diligent, and very easy to communicate with. I felt like I was in very good hands. She has an excellent ins...tinct and good knowledge of the law. During a very horrible time of my life I felt confident going into court with Susan because I knew I had the best attorney fighting for me.

Former Client

Susan represented me in my divorce. It was obviously a very difficult time in my life, but I felt very comfortable knowing that Susan was my attorney. She gave me very sound advice. She handled the legal aspects in a timely manner and I trusted her to keep my best interests and my kids best intere...st at heart. Susan was respectful of my input, and at the same time she was sure that I understood the legal ramifications of each decision. I have and will continue to highly recommend her to others.

I would not recommend

I was a former client. She did not file the motion that she said she would file and I expected her to do. I wrote an email to her that she forwarded without my prior knowledge or consent to to the other individual. At a meeting she sat there quietly while other individual yelled at me.
