About James

If you want the best possible legal representation, you may be tempted to go with a big, expensive law firm in some fancy high-rise office. That's where the best attorneys are, right? Wrong. If you want great representation -- and for the price of terrible representation -- you should hire me. I'm a lone wolf who has survived and thrived with cunning and guile. I make the magic happen from my comfortable home office on Summit Avenue in Saint Paul. Contact me through Avvo and I'll give you a free consult.

GREAT job and GREAT person!
James did an amazing job with my case...and saved me a ton of money! He's personable, hard working and honest. I never felt as if he wasn't there for me when I needed him. Great job James, I will certainly use you in the future....let's hope I just don't need to!

Great help!
James is a great resource when you need him. You will feel as though you are his only client. Treats your case like a family matter, not a business deal.

Professional and Prompt
James is a very knowledgeable attorney who kept me informed every step of the way in the dissolving of my company partnership. He was always easily accessible, and kept on top of things through out the entire time he was working on my case. James is not only professional, but personable as well.

James is the BEST!
James is so very knowledgable. If he does not know the answer, he will research the topic throughly to the point of perfection! He won't settle at just any answer, he looks for the answer until he finds the perfect answer with the all the supportive legal references behind his research. What makes James so special is his personality. He is non threatening, he makes you feel calm and that he has your situation under control, so there is no need for you to worry about anything. He is not at all this intimidating lawyer in a suit and tie behind a big scarey desk. He is casual, but professional. Actually I can't even come up with words to describe James, except he is absolutely the BEST. I have used attorneys before, but as long as James is a lawyer I will never switch to anyone else!

James has INTEGRITY!!!!
James had to go through a huge stack of legal papers and try to make sense of it all!!! He did an excellent job in sorting it out and writing a reply for the MN Court of Appeals. It was a case involving my minor son. James was extremely thorough and professional. But he also was caring and understanding. Thanks to Mr. Heiberg, my son will not have to endure anymore stress in his young life!! Thats worth more than money can buy!!!

Beyond Measure!
James is very knowledgeable in the law field. James is very prompt when getting you the information that is needed. He goes beyond his role as a lawyer, he is caring, supportive and trustworthy, I would recomend him to family, friends or to anyone who is in need of lawyer!
Response from James Heiberg August 15, 2011
In this case, my client was not getting paid her full wages. She has a two-headed employer: a personal care provider organization (PCPO), and a state agency. The PCPO cut her pay by more than 50 percent, claiming that the state agency had not authorized any more work hours for her. The state agency denied having cut her hours, but it did nothing to correct the situation. Hence, the lawsuit. She has finally gotten all the pay she had coming, and now we're going for consequential damages. The case isn't quite over, but victory is already ours.

Attorney for
My case involved some complicated housing issues that had complex financial figures, medical facts and multiple housing agents. The dialogue between myself and the other party was so degraded prior to James taking on this case, I was days away from homelessness. Between the hearing and the trial James was so thorough and tenacious he was able to present a very a settled agreement that the judge and both parties left smiling and happy. I was very impressed with his compassion and dedication to understanding my situation and his ability to enlighten the other side to a resolution.
