Lauren Olivia Otto

Lauren received her retainer in July 2019. She told me at the consultation that the second she received the money she would schedule an OTSC hearing. My marriage was less than 8 years so I could only receive short term maintenance, so she said we had to request it ASAP. I heard NOTHING from her for a... month. I called the office multiple times, she was always busy or on vacation. Her paralegal finally told me she had taken on too many cases. It only gets worse from there. I never got the OTSC hearing, she never called me back. I had to schedule "phone appointments" I was charged $390 and$480 for phone calls. She charged me to complete a maintenance calculator, FIDI, ect. She never filed anything with the court. She had a settlement meeting with my estranged husband and his attorney, I was not present, they decided I had to refinance the car into just my name. There is so much more, she quit and said I fired her, used the retainer, upped her fee by $50 without notifying me. I received a bill for $2000. I felt like I was facing a criminal charge, not a divorce. I will never recover from this, emotionally or financially. I was divorced over the phone with no attorney and nothing filed. I have dealt with other attorneys, I have never seen or heard anything like this. I would never recommend Lauren Otto to anyone for any reason.

If I could give her negative stars, I would! I have had many expirence with lawyers and this is by far the worst attorney I have ever had or heard of anyone having. In one hand she told me there's pretty much nothing she can do for my paternity case, but she'd be glad to represent me. I did all the ...work for my case getting a parenting agreement and she charged me for it. She charges you for sending you paperwork you already get from the court and takes WEEKS to getting around to your case. She's a waste of money and I'll be making sure everyone knows not to hire her. I could have done so much for my son with the money that was wasted on her "services". Worst lawyer ever!!

Laureen is an excellent Attorney who answers your questions when you need them answered and does not sugar coat her answer for fear it may be something you don't want to hear. If you have a question and you call its not days before she calls you back its as soon as she is done working with a client i...n her office or if she is in court she will call you and not wait days to do so. I found her and her staff very easy to work with and would definitely recommend her.

Where do I even start. Lauren was very new when I worked with her and has a lot to learn about being a good lawyer. My phone calls were generally never responded to and I was made feel like a criminal in a family case fighting to have my own child. When character surveys were given by Otto in a Guard...ian Et Lietem family case and the case summery was written, iwas clear the facts were falsified on her end. I genuinely believe this as I had copies of all the character reports sent in by my references before sending them to her. In the guardian stand point only meeting her for about an hour and being recommended by her to have a mental evaluation while the other party who has seen a psychologist for mental issues breify and refuses to go back was not recommended. Well long story short given the falsified report and 3 visits to the psychologist to complete a mental evaluation, I can honestly say she has wasted my money for her services, my health insurance's money for recommending a evaluation that even have the psychologists scratching their heads on why I was there in the first place and why my ex was not. Especially since this was the same place he had gone for his psychological issues. To be quite honest I'm lucky I have a strong mental health as I know had my ex had to be put through what I went through, he would have attempted suicide another time. Working with her put me in the worst part of my life I would never choose to relive specifically due to the actions she put forth. I needed a copy of something made after court as well and I to this day have never received it. Her files are not organized and was told this over the phone. I can't imagine how anything was kept straight in our paperwork. Don't waste your money, it's only going to find you frustration with a spend price tag. And I have worked with other lawyers being a business owner myself whom I would all recommend. Lauren, however, I would not trust to represent me in family cases and if I needed a lawyer for criminal I would probably defend myself before I hired her.
