Heather Nelson is an experienced trial attorney, having successfully tried cases before juries in state and federal courts throughout Wisconsin and Illinois. A native of Green Bay, she moved with her family to Illinois as a teenager and launched her legal career in the Chicago area. After representing defendants in civil litigation matters with two Chicago-based private insurance defense firms, she joined Law Offices of Loretta M. Griffin, Chicago’s staff counsel operation for The Hanover Insurance Group. She became licensed to practice law in Wisconsin in 2000 and thus expanded Hanover’s in-house reach into and throughout the entire state of Wisconsin. Heather ultimately was promoted to Lead Trial Attorney at Hanover, representing Hanover and its insureds and advising Hanover’s claims personnel from pre-litigation stages through trial and appeal. Her practice has focused on motor vehicle accident and premises liability claims, including Safe Place Act. Heather also has experience in wrongful death, products liability, employment discrimination and insurance coverage litigation and has represented employers in Equal Employment Opportunity Commission investigations.
Heather has served as a scoring judge and presiding judge for Wisconsin High School Mock Trial Tournaments and particularly enjoys the opportunity it affords her to encourage and mentor aspiring litigators.
Joining the Everson firm returned Heather to her roots and has significantly reduced her post-Packer game commute time.

"I have worked on several cases throughout the years with Heather and she is a very intelligent and practical litigator. She has a great presence in both the courtroom and deposition settings. I have no hesitation recommending her to anyone looking for a defense attorney or tough litigator."
"I endorse this lawyer. In the adversarial world of tort claims, civility is not always a priority. However, Heather remains a professional, knowledgeable advocate who is also a pleasure to work with."
"I fully endorse Attorney Nelson. She is a wealth of knowledge and always strives to do the best she can for her clients."
"Attorney Nelson is the definition of consummate professional. She brings decades of experience to the table and treats every single case with thoroughness and integrity. She consistently achieves excellent results for her clients. I recommend her to any potential client with the absolute highest level of confidence."
"I have had the privilege to interact with Attorney Nelson in both a personal and professional capacity for several years. Attorney Nelson has exceptional trial experience- trying over 30 cases to verdict for her clients and insureds. She is thoughtful, thorough, pragmatic, and refreshingly down-to-Earth. She has natural leadership skills, which shine not only in the courtroom but within her Firm. She has an uncanny ability to strike the perfect balance between astute, serious professionalism and the importance of human connection and camaraderie with colleagues. She holds several leadership positions not only in her Firm but within various legal associations and is an active member of her community. She is a tireless advocate and works around the clock, except for Sundays during Packers season (which is simply another feather in her cap)."
