Unfortunate negative experience

I cannot recommend this attorney based on our personal experience. Extremely incompetent in handling our mother's case. Delays and lack of communication lost any chance of pursuing our case. Records were NOT obtained as requested multiple times, follow up to emails was few and far between. Four diff...erent para legals tried to pick up the pieces each time one left. Attorney on opposition side was never communicated with after letter was received. Extensions were given because the attorney didn't do her job, not because of delays in obtaining information from entities as stated. Repeatedly asked is records could be refused to be sent to attorney without reason or reply. Was told record requests were sent multiple times without reply. When I followed up with these entities they provided proof that records were sent with fax confirmation and reply to attorney. Billing invoices did not add up to the amount of down payment given, $3,000. I saved every out going email and responses or lack of. I even have emails from paralegals who told me requested information was not even sent. The blame was put on the other entities for not responding when in fact the problem was with the attorney not doing her job. By the time I decided to pursue my own inquiries, over 2 years had been totally wasted. Corporate attorneys on the opposing side stated they had already responded to our attorney previously with NO replies. I then had to try and navigate from square one on my own. Contacting new attorneys when the statue of limitations runs out at three years put us in a situation where we literally ran out of time to legally take action. Hind site is 20/20. We had no idea of extensions being filed and records being obtained but lost somewhere in the process. Records that were in the file were the ones I initially obtained and were given to her at the start of the process. Reassurance that things were getting done were false. If she was unable to fulfill her duty for whatever reason, she should have let us know this. I would have preferred an honest explanation so we could have moved on saving money and time. A red flag should have been every time I sent a follow up email to her paralegal a new person would reply stating so and so was no longer there. Literally every 4-5 months there was staff turnover. Each time I had to start over explaining what was being done, not done and what was still needed. Reassurance was given it would be handled until the ball was dropped once again. Is she a nice person to talk with? Absolutely. We met with her before hiring her and really felt like she was a good fit. She could relate to the situation with our mother. Unfortunately it was all talk and no action. We honestly have more than enough information, emails and communication showing a total lack of competence and follow up. I read other complaints stating very similar experiences with dropping the ball, not being prepared and total lack of communication. I would say that is spot on. We all have struggles and times in our lives when we need to step back and evaluate ourselves and the job we're doing. If you are unable to fulfill your obligations you need to step aside and assist your clients in moving forward. There is more, but I hope others will read this and if things don't seem right, and you're not getting your questions answered, you consider finding new counsel. We were not that lucky and it cost us emotionally and financially.

Mrs.

Attorney Gage brings ethics and skills to the table of those she represents. She’s incredibly smart, studied and willing to negotiate the best outcome for her clients. She knows the courts, the people, and the geography of her State. In return she is well-known and respected for gaining successful ou...tcomes for her clients. She works endlessly and cares about the situations her clients face. Attorney Gage is an excellent lawyer and the reason she’s the first choice as my attorney.

Brilliant legal mind. Steadfastness and compassion.

I knew of Andrea's brilliant legal mind and referred my sister to her when she needed legal representation. My sister couldn't have been happier with Andrea's professionalism and for treating my sister like a human throughout her case. I'm thankful for Andrea's steadfastness and thorough work to supp...ort my sister throughout the process. Thank you, Andrea.

Intoxicatingly nice.. Utterly incompetent

Incredibly likeable person, but an utterly incompetent attorney. Lost in the process, always behind opposing counsel in strategy and action, non-communicative and unresponsive, and willing to bend ethics in her weak strategy positions that fail, then dump the damage trail in the client's lap upon wit...hdrawing. Her legal peers that reviewed this case after I terminated her, were shocked at her overwhelming lack of initiation and action on my behalf. More than one attorney suggested she was grossly incompetent, and should be reported to the state, and why in Heaven's name did I keep her retained for that long. My simple response, she's likeable, but clearly not able to get the job done. Contributing to her ineffectiveness, was that she was more concerned about running for a state senate seat, then managing my case, and also is going through a family-law divorce process herself. If you want a friendly soul to chat with, Andrea is your gal. If you want a competent proactive attorney, keep looking.
