Guardianship

Emily was very personable and professional. She guide me through the process of gaining guardianship. She was prompt with all questions and correspondence and advised on how to make my case more affordable.

Excellent Attorney

Attorney Emily Wilson is a real professional attorney. She is very dedicated, hard working, and family oriented lawyer. My divorce case that i thought would be complicated and expensive ended up being quiet simple and straightforward all because of Emily's professionalism and her proven track record ...of providing quality and affordable family and divorce services. Attorney Emily Wilson is simply the best.

Do your homework

I have no idea who these are other reviewers are talking about. Emily has an extremely passive approach towards custody placement disagreements. She made very poor decisions/recommendations for filings that my kids and I are still paying for. During my initial consultation, I left feeling very hop...efully that she could help me. But it was apparent fairly quickly she was not up to the challenge. Luckily after going through that awful experience, I interviewed 5 different lawyers and found one that is helping me unwind the damage she and David did. During the interview process, the other lawyers offered other strategies I never knew existed or heard about once from her/David. If you have an extremely simple case where both sides are reasonable she would probably do fine (but who wouldn’t). I can’t recommend enough that you do your homework and avoid this law group.

Relationship: Worked together on matter

"I have known Attorney Wilson ("Emily") since 2008, when we began our legal careers together as law students in New York City. During this time I have had the opportunity to work with her on projects as a law student, and legal matters as a lawyer. Since we are now practicing law in the Madison, Wisconsin area, it is a pleasure to collaborate regularly with Emily and refer family cases her way. Emily is among the most passionate and dedicated lawyers I know. She strives to support social justice in her life and work. This commitment is apparent in her client advocacy, as she skilfully navigates the complex legal system that governs family law, while maintaining focus on the real "human" or vulnerable interests of her clients. Especially in family law, you need a lawyer like Emily with both the sharpness and sensibilities to fully advocate your case, and achieve the justice you deserve. I very highly recommend Emily as your family law attorney."

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
