About Michael
Biography
For the past 20 years, I have been honored to be a criminal defense attorney. I have experience in a wide variety of case types, including homicide, drunk driving, drug possession, juvenile, battery, property crimes, and sexual assault. The summer of 2022 was especially gratifying as I litigated and won two homicide trials in two months. Both defendants are out of custody and home with their families.
In the fall of 2023, after 18 years, I closed the Covey Law Office and joined forces with Attorney Corey Chirafisi. He is a phenomenal attorney who focuses on OWI defense but also has enormous experience in both State and Federal Courts. Together, we litigate complex high level felonies.
When I am not practicing law, I enjoy many other interests. I enjoy reading non-fiction history and biographies. I avidly follow international affairs. I am an active volunteer with the Delta Chi Fraternity and Grace Episcopal Church. Other interests include working out, traveling to Chicago, and comic books from the 60s and 70s.
