I hired for my ex-boyfriend in early 2023. The retainer was 7k for him to work on an appellate case. The case was not that difficult to win with Barney vs WI as case law. He clearly never read that case law despite my bringing it up more than once. Another issue came up and supposedly the entire reta...iner went to that which was a case that he lost anyway and a case that did not matter in comparison to what he was initially hired for. Worst mistake ever, hiring Jurek. He wanted another 7k to fight the initial case he was hired for but he never showed any work he had done on either case to begin with.

I paid Mr. Jurek a $2500 down payment after my daughter did some consulting on the phone. We then did a conference call with our conference telephone number. He decided he would come see us which is a two hour drive from Madison. He said he would only charge us for the 1 hour drive from Oshkosh. W...e said we would meet him, but he insisted on coming to our house. Which of course he came 2 hours later than the scheduled time. The whole time he was here he answered some of our questions and looked at some paperwork. He did not take anything with him when he left. He was also trying very hard to up sell. He wanted to do an appeal when that was something that we never wanted. After he left we basically never heard from him again. I requested the file and never received it. He told me he sent it but that is a total lie. We never received anything and he ignores phone calls and e-mails. He basically took our money and ran. We received nothing from him.

Attorney Jurek has an outstanding reputation and a winning record. I researched his work very carefully and talked to others before hiring him. He has won Supreme Court cases and interlocutory appeals. (Those are really hard cases to win!) My guess is that the previous reviewer may have not had a... good experience due to their own doing and that it had nothing to do with the attorney he/she hired. Mr. Jurek worked on my case for several weeks and was attentive and responsive. He answered my calls promptly and even spoke with me on weekends and in the evenings. He worked diligently on my behalf and I would hire him again if I were ever in need. I highly recommend him.

I would give zero stars if possible. I paid Mr. Jurek a $500 down-payment after doing some consulting on the phone. After that Mr. Jurek became increasingly difficult to get a hold of. As time was of the essence in my case, it was important I talk to him. He soon avoided me completely. I called him f...rom a different telephone number than my primary number and he answered immediately. After I told him my name he pretended he couldn't hear me on the phone! He then gave me the incorrect website to contact him on to see if I was eligible for "a partial refund." Aside from consulting, all he did was email my probation officer to inform her he was representing me then called me and told me to call her. This was after he advised me to avoid her. His time delays caused me to lose the chance to prove my innocence as he advised me to wait for him to accompany me to the place I needed to go to prove my innocence. The day before the event I hired him for he told me he would no longer be representing me. He directed me to a fake website. When I informed him the email address was faulty he sent me another address. This did not work either. I found his site by googling him. There were boxes to fill out with your name, email and message but no send button! By far the worst lawyer I've ever had the displeasure of encountering. Although he is inexpensive and has flexible hours, that means nothing when he avoids you and does not do his job. Now I have to sue him in small claims court for my refund.
