For 25 years now, Mark D. Richards has focused on providing quality representation in the area of law that affects individuals the most-criminal defense. Criminal defense is a specialized area and requires someone with the experience, knowledge, and know-how to provide the best possible representation. When a person’s liberty is at stake, the stakes can be no greater. That is why the cornerstone of all clients’ representation is a thorough investigation both factually and legally of all defenses so that no potential defenses are left unexplored or unlitigated. This “leave no stone unturned” type of representation has led to numerous successful outcomes for my clients.   In the past twenty years I have represented clients in both State and Federal courts charged with a variety of crimes ranging from First Degree Homicide, drug conspiracies, Vehicular homicide, Sexual Assault and Child Pornography. No case is too big or too small. I have also tried over 75 jury trials, ranging from simple two day Operating While Intoxicated (OWI) trials to month long Homicide trials. If you or someone you know has potential criminal exposure, do not hesitate to call or email for a free consultation. The sooner representation is secured the sooner your rights are protected. Do not wait to be charged, many positive results can be secured before a client is actually charged with a crime.

Mark Richards is the attorney you want in your corner!
I wanted someone knowledgeable with the law and facts surrounding my case to be at my side and that's what I got. Mark was there every step of the way, responding to emails in a timely manner and calling me when a phone call was a better way to communicate. When you call Attorney Richards, he answers with a can-do attitude. At the same time, Mark is realistic in what the consequences of one's actions may be. Mark made sure I was pro-active in getting steps done PRIOR to my sentencing date, positioning me for the best possible outcome. Beth, legal assistant, is awesome as well and makes sure you know when Mark is out of the office during trials, etc. I can honestly say this experience could have been so much worse without Mark and his staff on my side. I highly recommend Attorney Richards!

VERY Satisfied Customer
I first hired Mark Richards in 1993 when I was facing criminal charges in Racine County. Attorney Richards was able to get all charges against me dismissed at that time. In 2017, I was involved in an altercation with a family member that was not my fault, and was charged criminally for battery and disorderly conduct. Attorney Richards filed motions, as well as a speedy trial demand on my behalf, and the case was completely dismissed on the prosecutor's motion 3 days before trial. Attorney Richards was very responsive to my concerns about the case and aggressive in his representation. I would recommend Mark Richards to anyone who needs a criminal defense attorney.

A must HIRE!
When my future was on the line I consulted with several lawyers and the best choice I could have made was to hire Mark Richards. He did more than I ever thought was possible and got me back on the right track. Without any hesitation, I strongly advice everyone to go through Mark Richards.

Very Pleased With the Service I Received
I would highly recommend Mark as your attorney. He was very easy to talk to and explained everything to me and made sure I understood what was going on in my case. There was a time when I just wanted to accept what the DA was offering to get my case over with. Mark didn't believe I was being treated fairly and after talking to him I decided to continue with the case and not just accept what the original offer was. My case is finally settled and I am more that pleased with the outcome.

Could not ask for more !
We have hired Mark several times in the past for Felony Charges and were most pleased with Mark's determination and drive. I'm sure he had many other cases in addition to ours, but we always felt like our case really mattered. Both cases were resolved with in several months and Mark was always available to answer any questions we had.

Relationship: Fellow lawyer in community
"Mark is very well known throughout the state of Wisconsin as a high level trial attorney. His results speak for themselves. He has brought countless cases to trial and obtained favorable verdicts. Locally, he is known as one of the best criminal defense attorneys for many miles. I also had the privilege of being mentored by Mark on at least one case and his style and approach were refreshing. I would recommend him to anyone facing serious charges and looking for an attorney who who has a record of taking cases to trial."
