Attorney Gruhn is the founding and sole partner of the firm established in January 2007. Prior to starting his own practice, he worked for Corneille Law Group LLC in Madison, Wisconsin, as an associate litigation attorney. There, his practice focused on defending insurance companies, and their insureds, against civil lawsuits brought upon them alleging personal injuries sustained as a result of negligence and/or liability. Such cases stemmed from injuries and damages sustained in car accidents, slips and falls, construction mishaps, from doctor/hospital malpractice, and in contract disputes. Prior to working with Corneille, Attorney Gruhn interned with the Honorable David T. Prosser of the Wisconsin Supreme Court and served as a law clerk with the personal injury firm Pitman, Kyle & Sicula, S.C. in Watertown, Wisconsin.

 

Since he opened his own practice, Attorney Gruhn remains dedicated to providing his clients with unparalleled personal attention and aggressive representation in personal injury and other litigated matters, but his practice focus has shifted to helping clients navigate the emotionally challenging issues of divorce and family law.   Recently, having perceived a major malfunction in the the traditional family law processes, Atty. Gruhn started offering divorce and family law mediation to his practice. In addition, he is experienced in Criminal Defense.

 

Attorney Gruhn received a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the University of Wisconsin – Madison and his Juris Doctor from the University of Wisconsin Law School.

 

He is licensed to practice in all Wisconsin state courts, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Wisconsin and the United States District Court for the Western District of Wisconsin.

 

He is a member of the State Bar of Wisconsin, the Racine County Bar Association and the Wisconsin Association of Mediators.

 

Attorney Gruhn was born and raised in Racine County, Wisconsin. He has served as President of the Board of Directors of Racine Instinctive Bowmen and as coach of the Union Grove High School Mock Trial team.

Daniel Gruhn is a committed attorney and I would not hesitate to consult with him in the future and hire him if circumstances so warrant representation. I was in need of an attorney on an urgent matter and he was one of several attorneys I called for a consult on how to proceed. Daniel was considerate to return my call on a Holiday weekend and give me a advice as he patiently listened to the details by phone. After speaking with him and others I prefer his approach and honesty, He cared enough to return my call on his day off. I am still grateful for that call, along with the consideration he showed, knowledge and advice he gave me, in a time of need. Custody battle
Attorney Gruhn was always honest and upfront before any court hearing or meeting. A while back I fought for 50/50 custody for my two children and my case could have gone either way. With Dan's guidance everything worked out and I will always be grateful to him. He is different than other lawyers because he is straight with you from the get go. I would highly recommend him.

I had a great experience with Dan. The first time I called him was I believe a year or so after my accident. I called him and he came out to my house for a consultation. I hired him after that. Throughout the whole ordeal, he was very responsive and helpful. He would keep me posted on any interaction he would have with the other party. And at the end of it all, we settled on what he was going for. I would highly recommend dan!

Daniel has been a tremendous help multiple times. He is very professional, courteous, prompt, and down to earth. He goes above and beyond for his clients to be sure you are happy. A great lawyer who is committed to serving his clients
I hired Daniel a year ago to serve as my legal representation. I needed a family lawyer because I was involved in a custody/placement case. My son's mother was limiting the amount of time I could spend with our child. Before, talking with Daniel I did not have custody of our son because his mother and I had split up shortly after he was born. Also, at that time, I was only allowed to keep our son over night twice per week because the two of us could not reach a formal agreement. I spent time talking to Daniel about my rights and what I should expect once the hearing were over. He explained everything very well and I felt he was very knowledgeable and caring. After the final family court hearings were over I received joint custody/joint placement. I am very thankful and very happy with how smooth the process went. In my personal opinion, I think he is very good-hearted, down-to-earth, and committed lawyer. Thanks again Daniel Gruhn!

I hired Mr. Gruhn in August 2013 for a child custody case. Before even hiring him he provided me with a lot of advice and helpful information. When I decided to hire him he was honest about what the possible outcomes of the pending case. Although I did not win my case, I felt that Daniel fought to the best of his abilities and was very well prepared for the hearing. He also came at a very reasonable price. In addition he agreed to help with a traffic citation at no extra cost. I would highly recommend Daniel Gruhn to anyone and am very satisfied with my experience.

Far superior to my previous attorney
I had a horrible experience with a previous attorney, so when I needed to go back to try to get full custody of my son again, I thought I'd try someone else. From the first meeting, it was a different experience. I finally felt like someone was actually going to be proactive, rather than just riding along. Emails were answered in a timely fashion, I was kept in the loop for all communications, and never had to wait at the courthouse for him to arrive. Punctual and professional. What took me 9 months last time (and ultimately didn't work because the previous lawyer didn't seem to make an effort to do much other than bill me) only took a couple months this time, and had a completely different result. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Atty. Gruhn to anyone looking for representation.

Knows what he is doing
Dan Gruhn is a very trustworthy lawyer. He advised me very well during my divorce. He would advise when to proceed or not to proceed with an issue. He knows the judges in Racine county and bases his advice on what the judge will PROBABLY decide. Dan always kept me informed even on his day off. My ex and I did not communicate so Dan was the middle man and always forwarded my ex's response and his own response back to my ex to me. Dan is very fair in his billing. I am pleased with that aspect. He could have made more money from me but advised me to just settle and get it over with. Although sometimes I think what might have been the outcome which would have been more in my favor, I value Dan's opinion about settling and being done. A lot has to be said with being able to move on. Dan is a professional.
