Attorney Gruhn was always honest and upfront before any court hearing or meeting. A while back I fought for 50/50 custody for my two children and my case could have gone either way. I hired Daniel a year ago to serve as my legal representation. I needed a family lawyer because I was involved in a custody/placement case. My son's mother was limiting the amount of time I could spend with our child. Before, talking with Daniel I did not have custody of our son because his mothe...r and I had split up shortly after he was born. Also, at that time, I was only allowed to keep our son over night twice per week because the two of us could not reach a formal agreement. I spent time talking to Daniel about my rights and what I should expect once the hearing were over. He explained everything very well and I felt he was very knowledgeable and caring. After the final family court hearings were over I received joint custody/joint placement. I am very thankful and very happy with how smooth the process went. I had a horrible experience with a previous attorney, so when I needed to go back to try to get full custody of my son again, I thought I'd try someone else. From the first meeting, it was a different experience. I finally felt like someone was actually going to be proactive, rather than just r...iding along. Emails were answered in a timely fashion, I was kept in the loop for all communications, and never had to wait at the courthouse for him to arrive. Punctual and professional. What took me 9 months last time (and ultimately didn't work because the previous lawyer didn't seem to make an effort to do much other than bill me) only took a couple months this time, and had a completely different result. Dan Gruhn is a very trustworthy lawyer. He advised me very well during my divorce. He would advise when to proceed or not to proceed with an issue. He knows the judges in Racine county and bases his advice on what the judge will PROBABLY decide. Dan always kept me informed even on his day off. M...y ex and I did not communicate so Dan was the middle man and always forwarded my ex's response and his own response back to my ex to me. Dan is very fair in his billing. I am pleased with that aspect. He could have made more money from me but advised me to just settle and get it over with. Although sometimes I think what might have been the outcome which would have been more in my favor, I value Dan's opinion about settling and being done. A lot has to be said with being able to move on. Dan is a professional.
