Tough, Powerful Representation!!
From my initial consultation with Attorney Zaeske I knew he meant business! He was straight forward with his approach and gave an honest assessment of the possible outcome. The case was a bit challenging with very little time to prepare. I was confident with Attorney Zaeske's approach in the consultation and it was executed extremely well in the courtroom. Attorney Zaeske's quick wit and knowledge of the law is invaluable. Remaining stoic as Attorney Zaeske embarrased the unprepared petitioner was the only challenge. I highly reccomend Eric Zaeske!

I highly recommend
Really impressed with Attorney Zaeske. First worked with Eric 2 years ago on a divorce maintenance case. At the consultation Eric spent the time with me helping me understand my options and ultimately advised I wait an additional 2 years to peruse reducing my maintenance obligation. Eric knew that the timing was not right to move forward 2 years ago. Fast forward two years. I contacted Eric and the timing was now right. Eric represented me in this case and I couldn’t have been happier with him and the end result. With Eric’s many years of experience he was able to site case law that was beneficial to me receiving a fair outcome. I was most impressed with Eric’s closing argument at the hearing. It seemed like he had prepared 2 weeks on the preparation when in fact he used many details from that day’s testimony. After seeing Eric in action, I was actually a little embarrassed to see my spouse’s attorney fumbling around trying to go up against Attorney Zaeske’s cunning examination and closing argument. I recommend Eric Zaeske!

Seasoned Attorney
11 years ago we hired Eric to help us through a family law situation. Things could not have gone better for us back then, with Eric on our side. So a decade later, when we found ourselves needing family law representation again, we knew exactly who to call, without hesitation! As a seasoned attorney, Eric has a sixth sense for when, where and how hard to push. He has a very strategic tactical approach that lends for achieving overall goals. Not unlike a game of chess, Eric knows what move to make and at what moment. What’s more, he is completely transparent with this approach – his strategies were always thoroughly communicated ahead of time to us. Our case is fairly complicated and sometimes Eric doesn’t know the answer to one of our questions (it is rare, but it does happen). As a well-respected attorney, with a significant reach across Metro Milwaukee, Eric has vast & diverse network of resources to tap. Ultimately, this network of Eric’s has saved us a lot of money. I find Eric to be responsive, honest (even though sometimes I don’t want to hear it) and objective. He doesn’t tell you what you want to hear rather what will likely occur based on his experiences. In emotionally charged situations, this guidance is invaluable! On a personal note, I feel obligated to point out how many times I have called Eric’s office, upset and he’s been more than a lawyer. His listened and then responded appropriately. He certainly talks through the legal implications but more importantly has never discounted my feelings. Eric has also worked intentionally to mitigate our bill. Our case has been in & out of courtrooms, going on 14 months now. That’s not cheap. But Eric has been very candid about where he is making financial concessions on our statement. Again, this further demonstrates to us Eric’s commitment to our success. Hiring a lawyer is expensive, period. Spend wisely & do it right the first time.

Fantastic! First Call...Call Eric!!
I hired Eric to represent me in an unwanted divorce. He did an excellent job in presenting options to me, spoke from extensive experience on what his suggestions were, and ultimately let me decide what was best for my own situation. And he represented that decision. Eric kept me informed throughout the entire process on what to expect, what challenges were worth fighting vs. those that were not. Though I may not have gone along with what all of his recommendations (i.e. child support/placement arrangement), he supported and negotiated for me/my children to the very end to get what the best outcome for me/my family could be. And he got it. 100%. Considering this was a situation I didn't ask for, and he had to represent me with that stance in the court of law -- Eric did everything he could to protect me, my children's interests, my livelihood and well-being....without compromising one iota on standards or morals. I would be remiss if I didn't also mention Eric's para-legal, Erin, who definitely deserves more than a 'mention'! She is proficient, thorough, knowledgeable, and efficient! She knew what was going on through the duration of the case, and was able to answer questions handily that I asked. I would recommend Eric and his team without hesitation to handle any family law matter. He's knowledgeable, experienced, compassionate and fair. He's my first call, and referral, in the event of another family court matter.

Fantastic representation
Eric was fantastic! He listened to what I was going through, what my concerns were, and he kept mine and my sons's best interest in mind while handling the divorce. Never once did I feel he wasn't doing his job properly. He was always well prepared for every meeting or call, knew the background well and was the best voice for me. Erin, his paralegal, was always helpful, understanding and up to speed on the case, as well. They will be my first phone call and first recommendation for anything needed by myself or friends/family in the future. Thank you, both, for all of your hard work for me!

Eric Zaeske
I recently went through a divorce. Mr. Zaeske was my attorney. I was very impressed with his knowledge of divorce law, the professionalism of his staff, and his genuine concern in making sure my rights and property were protected. Eric is excellent at explaining the situation at hand, and the options that are available. The thing that impressed me most was Eric's ethical approach in managing my case. He was always upfront on costs, and outcomes of actions taken. I would highly recommend Mr.Zaeske.

Excellent
Extremely knowledgeable, has great 'presence' in court, and has the gift of being able to communicate effectively in all situations. Definitely was a factor in the positive outcome of both my divorce and subsequent placement battle. I am so happy that Eric was on my team. In addition to being a great lawyer and having an extraordinary working knowledge of the law, he is a nice person and truly cares about his clients. I would highly recommend Eric to anyone in need of a family law attorney. He's great.

Lots of talk, no action, huge bill!
When I hired attorney Zaeske he told me he would look into hidden assets, marital waste, and impute income to my husband because the woman my husband brought into our home, austensibly to care for me (I am disabled) spent the majority of her time with my husband, and went on vacations with my husband at his expense, sharing hotel rooms, but denying any impropriety. Attorney Zaeske did nothing he said he would do, but merely passed paperwork. Almost all filings were prepared by my husband's attorney. My bill was almost $7,000 just to get to the initial hearing. I could not afford to continue, and ended up unrepresented for the remainder of the divorce.

Response from Eric Zaeske June 22, 2018
This is a disappointing review. This case had many complexities. My efforts were constantly stymied by both my client and spouse, and I was never allowed to proceed in an orthodox manner. My guidance was often ignored and facts were manipulated. Despite spending hours and hours communicating, whether in person, by email or telephone, I was constantly asked for more explanations. This caused the fees to increase exponentially. When it became time to investigate assets and waste, I was discharged, to save money. Even then, I offered pared down services for substantially reduced fees (at a loss to me) just to give assistance. I never knew, until reviews were left, that there was unhappiness about any services.

Worst attorney I ever had
I hired Mr. Zaeske to challenge a commissioner's decision based on additional facts. I live in Florida and my case was in Wisconsin. The way he stated he would fight my case, he did not do. He never even told me I had to attend in person to my hearing. I mean what kind of attorney does not advise their client to be in attendance? I thought I did not need to be in attendance since I had hired an attorney. I emailed him a few times bringing up medical bills, but he was unprepared for the hearing and those facts and never responded to my email when I followed up 2 weeks before the hearing on the plan of action. He didn't bring up case law he said he would, he didn't address my concerns I brought to his attention before, it was real shotty representation. He called me 10 minutes before the hearing talking to me like I was going to be there and that is when he realized he never told me to attend even telling the judge it was his fault that I was not there. He also stated it would cost me $700 maybe $1000 up front. In the end his bill was double that. He also represented my father in a divorce and I asked after my bad representation if he was happy with him and he as well was not. I should of asked my dad before. He felt that the other attorney did all the work and Mr. Zaeske charged for things he did not even do. He has an assistant who does all of his typing but then charges to "prepare" the document. I think there are tons of better family attorneys in Milwaukee. I did not feel at all that he had my best interest in mind only how much he could collect from me. He knew he screwed up and that I was very unhappy and still charged me for bad service. I do not recommend you hire him. Make sure to do your research on other attorneys that are actually good. He is not a good attorney who fights for his clients and their best interest. I am sure you will be disappointed just like my father and I were with his services.

I am truly sorry that you did not have a positive experience, either when you handled this yourself, or after you retained me. As a returning client, clearly you were previously very happy with me, how I represented you and your bill. In this instance, I have spent hours after the case was over answering your questions, responding to your negative comments and discussing the negative results you received. You clearly know what happened and why. Yet, you refuse to accept it. I am disappointed that you have chosen this forum after our many discussions. That is your right, however. I wish you well. Eric
