About Walter
Biography
For nearly 20 years, I have aggressively defended OWI and criminal cases throughout Wisconsin. My practice is statewide, focusing solely on drunk driving, criminal and traffic defense. Over the last 18 years, I have successfully defended hundreds of OWI cases. I have been the lead attorney on more than 150 OWI jury trials.
Prior to working in Wisconsin, I was a law clerk for the Nebraska Department of Motor Vehicles. My job was to assist in implementing the OWI implied consent law in Nebraska, and I worked with the administrative law judges in conducting administrative OWI hearings.
My years of experience practicing in Wisconsin and my former law clerk experience have given me a unique perspective from both sides of the aisle. I fully understand the necessity of having the represenation of a qualified attorney in an OWI case.
My goal is to provide aggressive legal representation for DUI,traffic and criminal offenses.

Replied last July 19, 2023If our office did anything improper here, I would ask that you contact my office so that we can discuss it. Unfortunately, because the signer of this email is “Anonymous”, I have no clue as to who this might be, or what specific facts there were in the case. I see the review was entered on 4/13/23, but it has has just now shown up on my dashboard from AVVO, leading me to believe this is an amended review from one that was posted and removed by AVVO in April. I cannot recall one client who has called with any issue similar to your claim. I would ask that you call my office to discuss your issue with me. Clients regularly comment on how well my office communicates and how thorough I am compared other offices they have dealt with in the past. However, I also want you to be well aware that if this case proceeded to a jury trial, many times jurors make decisions that we do not agree with, but as an attorney, I have to accept their decision, so long as there was nothing improper to challenge or appeal. Moreover, you talk about making important decisions in life. I don’t know the facts and circumstances of your case given your anonymous post, but you may have hired me in 2022. In looking back on my cases in 2022 through 2023 to date, I see we have achieved excellent results for many clients. There have been many other similar results over the 29 years that I have been practicing law. I do take offense with your characterization, but your opinion is your opinion. Unfortunately, each case rests upon its own facts. I always tell prospective clients, and I will tell others who read this response, that success in other cases really has no bearing on the merits of their case. I sympathize with your situation and would be more than happy to discuss your case with you.
