Very dissapointed

I don't usually like to give bad reviews but of late I've decided to as to warn people so they don't go what I had to, I have a mental disorder that causes high amounts of anxiety... but I went to Pat with my sister who acts as a personal representative as I was going through a divorce -- and so... we asked her if she could just help us write up a settlement for the divorce and offer to my husband as due to my mental issues and depression of the divorce we really wanted to avoid any battles of court hearings. My initial opinion was that Pat seems to be a beautiful caring person as she listened intently and then asked me how much I wanted, which was very important to me, I really wanted to work with someone I could trust. But a week or so later she asked for a meeting with my husband and his attorney and for an hour asked questions that could have been answered within moments on a questionnaire. I thought there must be a reason but after the meeting she told me she felt based on certain aspects I could get more than I wanted, which that was not at all what I wanted to do yet never would answer what she think I could get yet sent constant emails which most made no sense and clearly were only to create a bigger bill. I constantly asked her to include my sister but she never did and I finally became so tense I ended up creating the settlement myself and had to be the one to sit with my husband to negotiate which between him and I, I agreed to pay Pat's fees if they went over a certain amount as I figured she wouldn't be charging too much... Then in the end she planned on hiding her fees from me leaving them completely off the settlement I was to sign, the actual official settlement. But I pressed her and she finally told me which I was pretty upset. The only good thing she did was make it where I didn't have to be present for the court hearing but in retrospect she probably figured then I wouldn't see the fees at all till it was too late to react to them. When I last seen her to sign the paper work I watched her pale as I told her of my agreement with my husband and that I was the one who'd now have to pay her for most of that out of my pocket which after finding out what she was going to charge to her I would never hire again. So unfortunately that's my experience with Pat and for me it hurts as I really wanted to trust her but based on my experience with her I would never hire her for anything again. As for my husband's lawyer I'd hire her in a heart beat. She protected him as best she could and from what he told me didn't overcharge for her services at all.

Divorce/child custody/ prenuptial agreement

I have nothing but the highest praise for the work done on my behalf, by Patricia Grove. My divorce was a long and painful experience. It was described as the most contentious divorce in Waukesha county during the 1990's. During the proceedings Patricia Grove kept me "in the loop" all along the w...ay. She anticipated every move my ex wife would make. And my ex tried everything in the book. She was found in contempt of court on five occasions, fined thousands of dollars, and found by the court to suffer from" Munchausen Syndrome By Proxy". Her failure to respond to the courts order to undergo a vocational evaluation to determine her earning potential led to saving me thousands of dollars in unwarranted child support. I did end up with full custody of my minor child. Patricia Grove provided the necessary care and attention my case demanded in a timely and professional manner. A truly great attorney.

An excellent attorney for all the right reasons.

Attorney Grove's expertise, professionalism, integrity and compassion were evident from the first consultation. I especially appreciated her background as a social worker who understood the dynamics of the issue that had impacted my relationship and my family. I thought my long term marriage woul...d be easily dissolved since the kids were grown and there really shouldn't have been too many issues surrounding division of assets. The reality was far different. As an emotional thinker and decision maker I struggled to look out for myself and my future. While Atty. Grove's compassion and empathy regarding the emotional devastation of divorce was what led me to hire her, it was her ability to recognize my personality style that protected me. She was forthright and honest regarding options and scenarios which I appreciated. She walked me through the entire process, remained calm and supportive no matter what chaos ensued, was always willing to answer a myriad of questions. Her expertise was invaluable during the mediation process. I could not have chosen a better person to represent me and am very grateful for all her help during the most difficult period of my life.

"Attorney Grove can best be described as a "lawyer with a heart". I have had the privilege of working with Attorney Grove over the years as both opposing counsel and as a business partner. She is extremely competent and professional. Her knowledge of the law is top notch. She fully assesses each individual case to determine whether it requires a collaborative approach or litigation. Her greatest strength is her empathy and compassion for her clients. If anyone makes a reference or poor joke as to self serving attorneys, they have never met Patricia Grove. The client's needs are always top priority. Any client retaining her will know that she will put her heart and soul into protecting and advocating their rights."
