Attorney Plaisted was fair and diligent in his representation of me in a criminal defense case. While his approach might appear meandering to my untrained eye, he showed witnesses, opposing counsel, and myself ongoing respect throughout the process, even when things did not appear fair, and was still... forceful when necessary in getting the appropriate information into the record to obtain a fair trial and the desired result. He appears very familiar with Milwaukee County legal system, both the challenges and eccentricities that do not appear documented in either state law or WisBar court rules. So long as you are honest with him, he returns the same respect to you and your case. His court scheduling behaviors and appearances in court are no different than any other attorney I observed. Double-booking or delays due to concurrent scheduling by the court clerks of different branches is not unique to him but standard operating procedure of the district. Personal appointments were always adhered to without unnecessary or excessive interactions. He was able to recall the facts in my case, applicable law, and articulate them effectively to the judge and opposing counsel when needed to get my case resolved. He facilitated the case being defined by ALL the facts instead of by those limited to the DA charges and police reports filed or included. He is also willing to accept appointment in a challenging case that others are unwilling to take on due to the parties involved or the behavior alleged. He appears confident and professional, more than others who would walk away when the going gets tough or insurmountable. While he is not a large practice, he does not avoid the larger topics to be litigated and rights defended.
