Divorce case for Rich and Lindy Mueller

Right from the start we received detailed information about what was to be expected when you use mediation. Ellen was very prepared and no nonsense. Most of the meetings were done over Zoom which actually went very well --I had my doubts. And Ellen was good and prompt at answering our questions a...way from the 5 meetings we had. Very hard to get everything into the meetings and not have questions. And the the original divorce date was met even though Lindy and I caused some delays. She addressed our concerns and was accepting of our suggestions. Spread sheets and documents were very well prepared and reviewed in detail. So overall we had a very favorable experience with Ellen--given that a divorce is something I never want to experience again.

Amicable Parting of Ways

Ellen’s knowledge and compassion, complimented by her ability to keep us on task, helped guide us through this difficult time. She is professional, patient, and personable. This being uncharted territory for my me and my wife, Ellen made it easy for us to understand the process and she answered all... of our questions in a timely and straight-forward manner. Our children have been our number one priority and Ellen clearly explained our options and how we could work through everything. She stepped through the many forms with us and filed the necessary documents, making this difficult time more bearable. My wife and I were able to really focus on what was important to us - our children, our home, our belongings - instead of focusing on the negative and breaking down in the process of sorting it all out by ourselves. My wife and I felt it would be appropriate to give Ellen a gift as a way of extending our gratitude, only to find that she requests donations to Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin. If that doesn’t tell you the kind of person she is, I don’t know what would. I recommend Ellen and the mediation services of Sterling to anyone who wants to part ways with their spouse in the best way possible - amicably and agreeably.

The Right Choice

It was a long and oftentimes stressful process to get to the end of my divorce, but overall I could not be more satisfied with the result. I believe it was fair and equitable for both sides, and a large part of that is due to Sterling Law Offices and Ellen. One of the main factors in the divorce p...rocess is the attorney, and Ellen is simply great to work with. She has a wealth of experience and a down-to-earth attitude, is very easy to talk to, and was 100% focused on helping me achieve my goals. She helps ensure you're as prepared as possible at each step along the divorce process, and was reachable and responsive over text, email, phone, and video, depending upon the need. I truly felt like Ellen cared about me as a client. Another important factor, and the one that initially drew me to meet with a lawyer at Sterling Law Offices, was the cost. The financial structure with Sterling Law Offices was absolutely what I needed, and Ellen was always available to guide me and answer my questions along the way without me having to worry about added costs. She was also cognizant of helping me avoid extra fees, at one point working at all hours of the day and evening to help reach an agreement and avoid costly mediation. Don't trust just my review... Relationship: Worked together on matter

"Whenever I have a question about a domestic relations matter, Ellen is the first person I consult. Illinois' laws have changed considerably over the past several years and I rely on Ellen to provide me with accurate information for my Clients. In those situations, where my Clients need an Attorney to handle a domestic relations matter, I consistently refer the Client to Ellen for representation. I think that Ellen is an exceptional young Attorney with knowledge and skills way beyond her years, and I would not hesitate to refer a Client to Ellen not only because of her knowledge and skills but because I know that she would be empathetic to their concerns and would be a zealous advocate for their rights. This is of particular importance to my Clients as they tend to be older and more fearful of attorneys and the legal system. I strongly endorse this Attorney."
