I’ve been working with attorney laster for over 10yrs. She has represented me multiple times for two divorce cases and child support. Besides me getting everything that we were asking for, she’s also very pleasant, extremely understanding, and she definitely does what’s needed in the courtroom. Attorney Earlean Laster has been an absolute Godsend in my most difficult periods of parenthood. I have two daughters with two different ladies (absolutely my own fault, should have been married prior to being a parent). There was a time when I had no parental rights, no visitation, and was paying up...wards of $1200 per month in child support, for children that I wasn't being allowed to see on a regular basis. Once I researched what my rights as a parent could & should be, I contacted Laster & Associates. I met with Atty. Laster at the courthouse, and informed her that I needed a "pit bull" in the courtroom. She let me know that she was very aggressive when defending the rights of her clients. I retained her, and she got right to work on my two cases. We immediately scored a win, and she got me temporary placement of my oldest daughter. Ultimately, she ended up getting me overnight placement every Wednesday with my oldest daughter, every Thursday with my youngest daughter, and every other weekend with both my oldest & youngest, together. And having the court ordered overnights with my children drastically reduced the amount of child support I was required to pay. It was very tough going through two different custody cases simultaneously, and I had to do my part as well (completing two parenting classes, getting involved with my child's school, being mature, responsible & consistent, etc.). But Atty. Laster's mastery of family law, her preparation and presentation in the courtroom, and her empathy and support for what I was going through was the magic that my children and I so desperately needed. I thank Attorney Laster from the very bottom of my heart, as without her, my children would probably had never gotten the chance to bond with me and each other, and I'd most likely be incarcerated for owing thousands in back child support. I HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommend Attorney Earlean Laster for any and all family law matters you may ever encounter. As a side note, don't EVER go to family court without proper legal representation. Attorney Earlean Laster is a true professional who provides years of knowledge and contained my support issues before the judge uncaring tried to throw the book at me. She was difficult to get in touch with at times but always may an effort to contact me back... A good Attorney isn't sitting by the p...hone all day, I get it. Attorney Laster was a God send, when my child's father called child protective services, as a precursor to him filing for shared placement. He had a new girlfriend who encouraged him to throw everything but the kitchen sink at me, so that he could paint me as an unfit mother. Atty. Laster was impress...ive when dealing with CPS, the agent dropped the case after 2 days of her involvement. I did retain Atty. Laster's firm for the child placement/ support dispute. Shortly after signing the retainer I was provided with Atty. Rochelle Benton. Although she was junior counsel, she provided adequate representation. Conversely, it would have been nice to pay the junior counsel hourly rate, meaning half. It did come as a surprise when Attorney Benton required additional retainers as well as a high hourly fee to represent me when my child's father threw in a motion for a restraining order. This guy decided to pull every shenanigan he could. I paid Atty. Laster's firm on time, however I couldn't pay additional retainers for all the new crap he dreamed up. If you are looking for al la carte representation, I think this is a wonderful firm to work with. However if you are dealing with someone as relentless as my child's father, you may want to find yourself other aggressive and thorough representation for the long haul. All in all, Atty. Laster has a plethora of confidence and experience, so if you retain her please make sure she will be the one representing you. She is very skillful and knows just what to say for the other party to comply. I did use her firm for other services and was impressed.
