The majority of my practice focuses on assisting clients in bankruptcy and family law matters. I work with a wide range of clients, helping them deal with the legal issues they face. I am dedicated to providing excellent customer service by giving my clients the guidance and support they need to make the right decisions to help them move forward.
As a solo practitioner, I handle all my cases personally. I keep my practice small to ensure that I can provide the attention, personal service and accessibility my clients deserve. My clients can also be sure that their work will not be handed off to an unknown staff member. I will manage every aspect of your case personally. This allows me to answer my clients' questions quickly and respond to their needs directly.
My clients often face problems that are extremely personal, especially in the areas of family law and bankruptcy. These situations can be painful and may force you to share things that you would prefer to keep private. I am discreet and I consider it a part of my job to compassionately help my clients work through the sensitive issues confronting them. From details about your personal finances and debts to the emotions of a painful divorce, it is important to have a lawyer you can trust to protect your interests.

Missed Deadlines, Failed to Communicate
I hired Erika for a divorce. She missed deadlines and withdrew from my case at the last minute. I was forced to represent myself in a two day trial. Then she had the nerve to file a judgement against me for unpaid fees.

Do not hire Erika A. Cannaday
Erika completely abandoned my chapter 13 case as well. She filed paperwork 30 minutes before deadline, then never showed up to any of my court hearings. My Chapter 13 case took 2 years because of her. Finally the court had to dismiss my case and I had to hire another attorney cosing another $350...

She has fallen off the face of the earth with no where to turn!
I hired Ericka earlier this year after a friend used her with no issues. I had a very difficult time making the decision to move forward with this choice, and at first she was extremely supportive. However, at my first hearing I waited 2 hours and she never showed up. Thankfully the trustee unders...

No communication
I wish I could write a good review, however, it appears as though I too have been abandoned on my case. Fortunately, after I never received a receipt for one of my payments to file for Chapter 7 Bankruptcy, I thought I should check first before paying the rest of my balance. I received an automated...

Horrifying experience to say the least.
This was by far the hardest step to take in my life. I filed chapter 13 with Erika about 6 months ago. She has neglected my case and has ignored my every attempt to contact her. Because of her my case has been set in motion for dismissal and I now am in process of hiring yet another attorney to ...
"I have consulted with Erika on several family law and bankruptcy matters, and I find her advice to be absolutely invaluable. Erika is completely dedicated to being a first rate attorney and it shows. She commands a wealth of knowledge within her practice areas, but most importantly, she possesses excellent judgment and people skills. I would not hesitate in recommending Erika to anybody needing a family law or bankruptcy attorney in southeast Wisconsin."
