If you are hurt or run out of money don't hire puryear.

After paying $25000 in a year all on time I was injured no fault of my own his firm withdrew from my case because I couldn't pay within 7 days. Beware if you don't have thousands in your bank account don't hire Eric . He is over priced and charges full hourly rate for driving .

not trust worthy

eric took our money and then stated we owed him an extra 2000 dollars due to the fact that we were late on a payment of 700 plus dollars. he called my wife and said we had till noon to pay it. we had no idea that this money was owed. he never mailed us a bill and did not make us aware of the bill int...ill 1045 the day it was due. he did this in order to charge us more money. we have paid him all money that was due and he continued to make threats to my wife saying he will withdraw as her atty. he wrote her a mesg. at 1007 p.m. and told her this. he did not mail the invoice to us intill march 25th. the bill was due march 19th. we paid him 1000 dollars on the 22nd. then he said we violated the contract by not paying the 19th so we were required to pay 2000 dollars more. he held it back knowing this would happen. he will not stand beside you in your case and has no care as to the outcome..

Only Interested in Getting Paid

His office staff is rude, he is like an automaton, personality and compassion of mud. He is not proactive for the client-- will do nothing unless he is sure there are dollars in escrow. Everything is impersonal, all is handled through his internet "portal" -- communications, billing notificatio...ns, etc. If you do not have access to email or the Internet, you are billed additional charges for copies of your file. Results are minimal, doesn't care about YOU just that HE gets paid... He charges three times what it cost for another family member with the same situation with someone else.. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND HIM TO ANYONE... too bad there weren't reviews on him before we hired him.... took my money, no positive results.

TERRIBLE LAWYER

I had this lawyer for a small claims case. He accepted payments from the man who owed me money buy credit card the whole time. Then at the very end when he Paid it all off and I was suppose to get my check he said he didn't accept credit cards so sent the guy a huge refund of my money and expected hi...m to pay a different way. That's all he had to say in the beginning was he didn't except credit cards. When I confronted him he dropped me and I never seen any money! He is the worse lawyer! DO NOT GO TO HIM

Snake in the Grass

Seemed to be good at first but then started to notice my billing statements where getting outrageous. Most of the work was me running around myself. Showed up to court late on several occasions, one time showed up late and then proceeded to attend to another matter before coming back to inform me wha...t was going on. I would not recommend them to anyone, the closer your case nears completion the more they drag their feet to get things done so they can bill you longer, Some of my documents had even been changed during time from what I was showed to what was filed with the court and things were not reviewed or checked before being presented. I'm very dissatisfied with this firm and will not do future business with them and would not recommend anyone else to either. They don't gather their facts they give a blanketed approach and don't seem to care how your case turns out for you as long as you continue to pay them.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
