Eric David Puryear

I am very impressed by how quickly Eric and his team were able to review all of the documents and information regarding my situation (I must add that my situation is very complex and unique) and within days he was on the same page as I completely understood the issues. Within a week Eric took action ...in my case and has been fighting in my defense ever since. Eric is on top of things, responds in a timely manner, is always very professional, his staff is always friendly when interacting with me, and most importantly he has remained loyal to me. It is hard to find a lawyer that works for you and stays loyal to you. I have hired several different lawyers for my situation and either they want to take the easy way out by taking shortcuts, or they would to talk me into doing things I don't want to do, or doing things I didn't know about just to avoid the extra energy it took to satisfy my wishes during my case and Eric is the first attorney out of them all that I am completely satisfied with. So satisfied that I hired him for another case that I am currently dealing with, he is currently working on 3 cases of mine and I couldn't be more relieved. Eric is very intelligent, and firm when handling matters involving my cases. Eric respects my requests and is always honest and direct when providing me with answers or information regarding my case. Eric's services are not cheap, but it's money well spent and well deserved. Once hired, Eric completed more progress on my case in less than a week, than any other attorney has the entire time (almost a year).

Make sure to pay close attention to the negative reviews on this attorney -- they are extremely accurate and I wish I had seen them before contacting Eric Puryear. I hired Eric to defend my brother last year, who had been arrested on a few charges that should have never been made (he was in the wrong... place at the wrong time). As someone who once considered law school, it seemed like a relatively simple defense case -- and Eric was local to Davenport and sounded like he knew what he was talking about. That was my big mistake. After convincing me to hire him (and getting paid), Eric did little to no work on the case, and failed to even upload simple documents that would have assisted in the case. The hardest work he did on the case was convincing me to hire him, and then when my brother and I tried to follow up with him on the status of the case he seemed annoyed, abrasive, or at best, indifferent. If you'd like to hire a criminal defense attorney, I'd recommend doing your research before getting scammed by this guy. In all honesty, you would be better off going with a public defender than Eric Puryear. Once we hired a new lawyer, he worked diligently to drop almost all of my brother's charges, and reduce the last charge to a minor misdemeanor offense. Not only did he work much harder than Eric for our case, but also had a much better reputation with the judges and attorneys. The last thing I would ever do is recommend Eric Puryear. I'd give him 0 stars if I had the chance.

eric took our money and then stated we owed him an extra 2000 dollars due to the fact that we were late on a payment of 700 plus dollars. he called my wife and said we had till noon to pay it. we had no idea that this money was owed. he never mailed us a bill and did not make us aware of the bill int...ill 1045 the day it was due. he did this in order to charge us more money. we have paid him all money that was due and he continued to make threats to my wife saying he will withdraw as her atty. he wrote her a mesg. at 1007 p.m. and told her this. he did not mail the invoice to us intill march 25th. the bill was due march 19th. we paid him 1000 dollars on the 22nd. then he said we violated the contract by not paying the 19th so we were required to pay 2000 dollars more. he held it back knowing this would happen. he will not stand beside you in your case and has no care as to the outcome..
