I grew up in Ogden, Iowa. Graduated from Drake University Law School with honors in May 2018. While in law school, I was part of a group of students who helped a federal inmate successfully apply for a commutation of his life sentence for a drug conviction and served as a student attorney in the Drake Legal Clinic representing court-appointed criminal defendants.
Receiving my undergraduate degree in political science from Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa, where I played basketball for the Duhawks. After graduating from Loras College in 2009, I worked for Iowa’s U.S. Senator Tom Harkin in Washington, D.C, and later moved back to Iowa to work for U.S. Representative Bruce Braley in Waterloo, Cedar Rapids, and Des Moines and also served as the Iowa State Director for Martin O’Malley’s Presidential Caucus campaign in 2016.
