I used Laura for the first part of my divorce. Her communication skills were horrible. She would ignore questions I repeatedly asked. There were several times I didn’t know what documents were submitted for court, because Laura would say to “just sign it” because there was a deadline soon, and she w...ould fix it later. Several times, my ex knew information about my children’s visits days before I did. Laura also refused to ask for anything I wanted in the decree, stating it was “impossible”. After being so dissatisfied with Laura's ability, I hired a different attorney who ended up getting me everything I had asked for from the beginning. After escaping a DV situation, working with Laura I felt like I was back with my abuser because of her victim blaming mentality, her disregard for any of my concerns or requests, and her overall demeanor.

I went to Laura for a fairly simple modification of child support and custody that was uncontested. Firstly, she advised me to wait several months before filling. When I asked her to file, she wrote a draft, edited per our discussions, and then in explicably did not send it to my ex's attorney. Th...roughout the process, she continually ignored my requests on how to contact me. Items that could be solved with at 5 minute phone call were routinely sent as drafted letters that took days to arrive, despite numerous requests to simply call me. As a final show if her lack of professionalism, I she charged me fees for things that I had explicitly ask her not to do. When I called her office, she demanded that I go into her office in person to get the refund, despite me living 25 miles away. She then mailed me the refund and cancelled the appointment. However, due to the speed of mail I still had to make the 25 miles drive just to be informed I needed to check mail for the letter that arrived later that day. Between her fees and the time she wasted while I was overpaying child support, I cost me over $3,000.
