My husband was arrested recently on a six-year old warrant because he failed to appear for final sentencing on a second OWI. From the day he was apprehended to sentencing he was in jail for 8 days. In the first two days I searched extensively for an attorney to represent my husband at sentencing in... hopes one could strike deals or plea bargains to avoid further jail time as the maximum sentence included a full year. After contacting several, no one would or could touch the case because of the short amount of time and/or because it was only for a sentencing and many felt nothing much could be done. After contacting Mark and initially speaking with him, though, I knew I was in great hands. He walked me through the possibilities and strategies and gave me a great price rate given the special circumstances and one-time only appearance. It should be noted this case was to be heard in Ottawa county under a judge who is well known for imposing harsh sentences on drunk driving offenders so one could only imagine what his honor would do to one who failed to show for his sentencing. Mark, however, is very familiar with both this county and the judge at hand and actually has a very good rapport with him (a rarity among attorneys here). After a very stressful week, we finally went to court for my husband's sentencing. It was then that we were given a pre-sentence recommendation of 60 days in jail. Mark, however, remained optimistic and approached the sentencing with many well-placed arguments and proposed compromises using his rapport with the judge (it was very evident the two were respectful and comfortable with one another) and the jail time was thrown out in lieu of probation. Mark was insightful, straight-forward, and above all highly intelligent in this particular case. I can only assume based on this experience and my initial assessment of his professionalism that this is the norm. I will recommend Mark to anyone in the G.R. and surrounding areas that is in need of representation - particularly when it comes to matters of DUI and OWI. Without him I shudder to think of how much longer my dear husband would have had to endure the agony of incarceration.

While having Mark Hunting for a court appointed attorney I was shocked to discover that he was pushing me in the wrong direction. And i never would of thought that i would get yelled at by my own council. when i finally found a new lawyer it took several weeks to get copies of marks files.. and there... was nothing in them. weeks of waiting for a file and all it was were copies of the notice to appear that the court sends out. and the biggest let down was when i first walked in his office he made promises of evidence and dna and a fighting chance. then the next day at court he tricked me into waiving the evidence hearing .. i wouldn't recommend mark hunting i would report him
