My father and I contacted Jerry based upon a referral from another attorney who did not practice criminal law. After several phone conversations with Jerry, we decided to hire Jerry and the West Michigan Defense Team to assist with my pending Reckless Driving charge. Mind you, I had not hired an a...ttorney initially and when I did my own pretrial with an attorney, the City Attorney handling the case told me that they would make any reductions to the charge. Jerry told us that he would do his best to get the charge amended or dismissed and we trusted his judgment when hiring him. Jerry visited with the City Attorney several times and told us that the City Attorney was reluctant and did not want to reduce or amend the charge and wanted me to be convicted of Reckless Driving. Well, Jerry kept on trying and on the last day possible he was able to get the City Attorney to change her mind and reduce the charge. I thank Jerry for his willingness to continue to try to get a deal for me. I don't know what I would have done if I had lost my license. In the end, I was able to walk away with a Careless Driving saving a lot of money. I would highly recommend Jerry to anyone facing a criminal type charge. First, let me simply state what I think of Jerry Lykins in terms of his abilities as an attorney. I have limited exposure to attorneys, but the few I have worked with and had contact with in the past are not even close to Jerry Lykins. Jerry was always efficient, professional and responsive to my n...eeds and questions. Jerry truly understood the issues I was dealing with having been arrest for Drunk Driving. Jerry explained to me all the in and outs of the drunk driving law and prepared me for everything that happened. When it came to handling my case is court, Jerry was a master. I had only to appear two times in Court and each time Jerry had my case in front of the Judge within minutes. Jerry was 100% correct in all of his assessments and predicting how the case would be resolved. As a result of his representation I had my case reduced from an OWI to an Impaired Driving and the Court did not even order probation. If I was ever asked to recommend an attorney for any criminal law type matter I would highly recommend Jerry Lykins. He is dependable, honest and fair. Most of all, he gets the job done!

Mr.Lykins is (in my opinion) the best lawyer anyone looking can hope to find! I've been his client for several different cases since 2009 i do believe. From serious felonies to misdemeanors, and even phone calls (a lot of them) with miscellaneous legal questions I have. He always returns my call extr...emely fast always within the day and he is a very busy man and does whatever he can. Extremely skilled and knowledgeable when it comes to law (very impressed) and most definitely has the best pricing i've came across. When I first called Jerry he was representing my then husband who already had a couple felonies on his record and it didn't look good for him at all. The first lawyer office I called was rude and made me feel hopeless about the situation and was also very pricey. Then I called Jerry, he was very professional on the phone and very nice to me, and really just made me feel like more of an actual human being, I didn't feel like a walking dollar bill with him i guess you could say. He gave me a lot of information when I spoke with him that he really didn't have to (still does) and he even looked up what information he could about my (at the time) husbands case. The outcome was MUCH better than expected, and took on about 2 or 3 more case after the 1st one for my ex husband. He always did what he could for us as quick and efficiently as he was able to. I even had my ex's probation officer randomly show up around 10pm or so and I believe it was also a weekend, and i panicked most out of anger as to why these people where waking me up that late so I called Jerry and he answered AND talked to my ex's P.O. right there. He wasn't even upset (that i noticed) that i was calling so late. I had a case against myself where I was accused of shoplifting about 2011 or so and I was innocent, but before they searched me and my car I called Jerry again and he answered AGAIN!!! And spoke with the officer at the time, continued to check for me to see if I had a warrant (I didn't get arrested at the time) and eventually they issued one. I was scared but I had no doubt Jerry would fix it and would call me with every new detail he had and told me what to do with everything. He got the cased dismissed because they didn't have the videos they claimed they had and I got to see just how good Jerry is at what he does for myself up close. Now 2013 I contact Jerry with some type of legal issue/question at least once a month it seems like. He always treats me with respect, has an AMAZING price, doesn't make me feel stupid, AND THROUGHOUT THE YEARS I'VE KNOWN HIM HAS ALWAYS BEEN THERE FOR ME!! Jerry is just a downright fantastic person with a huge heart and actually cares about you and whatever your case is. He goes out of his way to help me when I need him if he has to. Still to this day I refer everyone I know that may need a lawyer to Jerry., I feel confident that there isn't another lawyer around that will put as much time and effort along with great customer service as Jerry Lykins has done for me. :-)

In 2010, Jerry Lykins represented me when I was accused of Assault with Intent to do Great Bodily Harm. I wanted to share my experience with working with Jerry so others looking for an attorney might know how passionate and skillful Jerry is when it comes to criminal defense work. I was arrested by... the local Police after being involved in an altercation with a drunk man who tried to attack me and two friends. I was clear with the police from the beginning that I was only defending myself when he attacked. But because the man had serious injuries, mostly inflicted by two friends, the prosecutor's charged all of us with the offense. Honestly, I had no where to turn until Jerry got involved. Jerry did everything prior to trial to attempt to resolve the case. But the prosecutor would not back down and wanted a conviction. Jerry and I agreed that it was necessary to go forward with a trial. This was an absolutely terrifying experience for me. I had never been in trouble before and I was facing a possible prison sentence if convicted. Jerry assured me that the truth would come out and the jury would see the facts as we did. I trusted Jerry and I watch as the trial progressed over several days. Jerry was always prepared, he was passionate and skillful in the courtroom. Jerry fought for me and after days of trial and having a jury consider my fate, I was found NOT GUILTY. My life was restored in just a few seconds with just a few words. But, what Jerry did for me, was nothing short of a miracle. I know his fight for justice and his passion to prove my innocence was the difference. I have a future and I am thankful for people like Jerry. Thanks Jerry!
