A completely unsatisfactory experience with Metz

I fired Mr. Metz after I realize that his representation of me was sloppy and ineffective. I I originally hired him for a third offense DWI that there was ample evidence that I was not even driving. Metz would not discuss case law with me and dismissed it with a condescending attitude of he knew best.... After two appearances in front of the judge where I was totally ill prepared by attorney Metz and given faulty advice I fired him. I hired a different attorney and the charges were promptly dismiss due to caselaw. The best decision I made was to fire Metz. He also stated to me in writing on two different occasions that I would receive a refund and six months later no refund. From my experiences I strongly advise you to not hire this attorney.

Per William, "there was ample evidence that I was not even driving"? That's funny because that is NOT what William told me at our initial free consultation. "Sloppy and ineffective" are 2 things that I am not. I pride myself in ALWAYS being prepared and doing the best I can for each and every one of my clients on EVERY case. In fact for William, I was able to get his bond amended multiple times as he requested of me to allow him to travel out of state, etc...but amended for him to still be in compliance with alcohol testing provisions of his bond. William did NOT pay me in full up front, he made a partial payment which I earned during my representation of him (that lasted well over a month). Quite frankly, per our retainer fee agreement, I could have demanded him pay the balance owed to me per our contract/retainer fee agreement; however, because he did retain another attorney I did not request that he pay the balance owed to me (in fairness to him because I thought it was the right thing to do).

Top shelf

A true professional. When he speaks there is a feeling of confidence in the court room. Communicates well. His length of experience has been a asset for me. Unfortunately I've made poor character conduct choices. Fortunately. I will have the opportunity to make a about face and move forward. Much in ...part to my attorney.

Above & Beyond Attorney

Mr. Metz was not just an attorney for me but helped save my life. When I hired Mr. Metz I was a hopeless addict facing many charges. He went above and beyond to show that he cared about me and advocated for me to get the help that I needed. He not only helped me from a legal stand point but he also h...elped me with my family as well. I was hiding my terrible addiction from all of my loved ones until he helped host an intervention with me. With his help I was able to get into a detox treatment facility and start my journey to recovery. I did not want this at first but was willing to some what try. Mr. Metz went above and beyond as far as suggesting some longer term treatment facilities and helped guide my family in the right direction. With the help of his suggestions I was able to get into a longer term treatment facility. My legal journey did not stop here. At this point I had Mr. Metz as my attorney for well over a year. He represented me and advocated for me in multiple counties. I was able to stay in treatment and go through with sentencing. With his help I was able to avoid going to jail AND get the help that I so desperately needed! Today I am writing this review with over 19 months sober from all mind altering substances. I live an honest lifestyle today. I know from the bottom of my heart I would not be alive today if it were not for having Mr. Metz as my attorney. He advocated for me on a legal and personal level. He checked in with me for months after he was done representing me. He truly cares about his clients. I am still in contact with him today and have so much gratitude for him as well as his family. I would highly recommend anyone to Mr. Metz, whether it is for a consultation or to represent you. He will tell you the truth and help you through the process. I can remember years before I actually hired him I used him for a consult and a referral for a different city. He is not only an amazing attorney but an amazing person. He cares about you from the bottom of his heart. Thank you Mr. Metz for everything that you have done for me, but for saving my life.

Life Changer

Jim represented my oldest son when he was charged with an MIP. Jim was responsive, respectful and informative. Because of the professional way Jim represented him, my son was able to fulfill his goal of joining the military and he is serving with distinction. I have referred Jim several times and ...will continue to do so.

When I called Jim Metz about my case he was on vacation. He called me back the same day and we set up an appointment. We had a meeting at his office and when I left I felt a lot better about my situation. In fact every time we talked about my case If at court or on the phone he put me at ease. Mr Met...z went above and beyond what I had expected. In the end he fought and got a reduced sentence and I couldn’t have been happier. I would highly recommend Mr Metz!
