The lawyer everyone recommended, now I know why!
When my back was against the wall and I was searching for a good lawyer, I asked around—and the overwhelming response from people in Livingston County was the same: call Jim Metz. Now I understand why. From the very start, Jim went above and beyond. He met with me right away, asked the hard questi...

A Legal Eagle !!
James is an exceptional attorney. Great communicator, kept promptly in touch with me throughout all our court proceedings. James served as assistant prosecutor for a number of years. He holds impressive relations with the Judges, prosecuters, and all the court personnell. He's very well organized...

Extremely Helpful
I can’t thank Jim enough for his help and guidance during a very difficult time. He was always there for me to help answer any questions and help navigate my concerns throughout the entire process. I would VERY HIGHLY recommend James W. Metz ll.

Good guy to know your going through a bad time
I'm a nurse that had gotten involved in a driving matter. Metz hands down was very thorough and straightforward. He is honest and gets you the best possible outcome of your situation. I personally felt handled as a client from day one. No better person to have on your side. Thank you!

A completely unsatisfactory experience with Metz
I fired Mr. Metz after I realize that his representation of me was sloppy and ineffective. I I originally hired him for a third offense DWI that there was ample evidence that I was not even driving. Metz would not discuss case law with me and dismissed it with a condescending attitude of he knew best...
Per William, "there was ample evidence that I was not even driving"? That's funny because that is NOT what William told me at our initial free consultation. "Sloppy and ineffective" are 2 things that I am not. I pride myself in ALWAYS being prepared and doing the best I can for each and every one of my clients on EVERY case. In fact for William, I was able to get his bond amended multiple times as he requested of me to allow him to travel out of state, etc...but amended for him to still be in compliance with alcohol testing provisions of his bond. William did NOT pay me in full up front, he made a partial payment which I earned during my representation of him (that lasted well over a month). Quite frankly, per our retainer fee agreement, I could have demanded him pay the balance owed to me per our contract/retainer fee agreement; however, because he did retain another attorney I did not request that he pay the balance owed to me (in fairness to him because I thought it was the right thing to do).
"I endorse this lawyer. Jim specializes only in criminal work. He started as a prosecutor and has extensive trial experience. I refer many clients to him with confidence that he will obtain the proper result."
