Biography
With over 20 years of experience, Mieke concentrates her practice in the area of Family Law. She practices in Eaton, Ingham and Clinton counties. Mieke handles all areas of family law including divorce, custody, child support, spousal support, change of domicile, change of school district, change of custody, change in parenting time and modification of child support and spousal support. Mieke is experienced with litigating cases in Friend of the Court, trial court and The Michigan Court of Appeals. Mieke also works with clients in settling cases in mediation and meetings with opposing counsel and the opposing party.
Mieke counsels her clients to reach the best result possible keeping focus on the family using her experience and knowledge in Family Law matters. Mieke has held her Institute of Continuing Legal Education (ICLE) Certificate of Family law for several years and keeps up with emerging developments in the law through research, local Family Law Section meetings and other continuing legal education.
Prior to Newburg Law, Mieke practiced at The White Schneider Firm and The Loomis Law Firm. Mieke graduated Cum Laude from Central Michigan University, was co-captain of the Central Michigan University Gymnastics Team and was Academic All-American. Mieke earned her Juris Doctorate degree from The University of Akron School of Law. Mieke lives in Grand Ledge, is married and has 3 children.
