Plea bargain lawyer only. Not a fighter

Great lawyer for plea baragins. But don't believe him when he says you will fight. Talked to many other lawyers that are fighters that laughed at his process, and warned me that his talks about fighting it and litigation were just going to be false hopes. And way too expensive on any question you ask.... 5 stars though for a plea bargain lawyer

Excellent

Matthew has been our attorney for several different issues over the past few years including an upcoming appellate case. He is well versed regarding various aspects of the law and has an incredible work ethic. Matthew understands how stressful legal situations can be for his clients and is always w...illing to take as much time as needed to ensure clients understand all options available. He has an excellent record of responding in a timely manner to emails and phone calls. We highly recommend Matthew's services.

Parents

We had the pleasure of meeting and developing a relationship with Mr. Newburg in 2012 when our 19 year old son found himself in need of legal representation involving illegal substances. Mr. Newburg laid out a plan for defending our son and over the course of many months did a very professional job ...working to keep us informed of all correspondence and updates from the court system. This time in our lives as a family was extremely difficult, but Mr. Newburg helped us throughout the entire process to remain hopeful. The end result for our son was a solid defense that allowed the judge to give our son minimal, yet fair, consequences for the circumstances. We would definitely recommend Mr. Newburg to anyone seeking legal representation.

Very Knowledgeable Lawyer

I am in the beginning of my divorce. Matt has been very helpful and good with everything that I have asked this far.

Very Good Lawyer

Matt is very helpful, easy to get a hold of, good at explaining court lingo, knowledgeable in the MMMP laws, and fairly priced with fixed costs. He is very trustworthy in the sense that he never guaranteed any outcome or lead me on to expect one specific result. Nobody wants a lawyer that tells you... everything is going to be fine if it might not be. In the end Matt got my three felony charges reduced to one misdemeanor with 7411 (no probation) which I was very pleased with.

Relationship: Co-worker

"Matt is one of the best attorneys that I have ever seen, which is why, when he asked me to join him as a partner, I had no reservations. He not only knows the law, but he is also incredibly creative and thinks outside of the box. His numerous wins at both the Michigan Supreme Court and Court of Appeals should be the only endorsement needed."

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
