Anthony J. Szilagyi

AVOID AVOID AVOID!!! Anthony is not responsive at all and is only concerned with money. I've never been to court but have been over billed constantly. He claims to send invoices and then constantly asks for more money. His reasons are not specific for the extra money he requests and he threatens t...hat if you don't pay, he will not "continue" representation. He quotes a ballpark and then strings the matters along. After speaking with other attorneys, I've found he is not very competent.

Mr. Szilagyi gave my business personal attention. I wasn't handed off to some associate like in other firms. He answered my questions in a way I could understand, returned my phone calls promptly and gave me good counsel which kept me and my business out of trouble. Nice to have someone covering my b...ack.

The City of Lansing gave me headaches about a development I was trying to get zoning approval on. After hitting several road blocks I contacted Anthony Szilagyi. He walked me through the process, spoke for me during the board meetings and convinced the city to assign a new zoning classification to my... development project. He was responsive, caring and treated the project like it was his own. I appreciated how vested he was in the future of my project. He really helped me make it a success!

I was referred to Tony's office from a friend who thought very highly of Tony's work. Best referral I ever received. I was impressed with his knowledge of construction law and the construction business. He was able to clearly explain my options and worked with me throughout my case. He kept me inform...ed, was responsive and really did a good job for me, and he billed me fairly. His work won me my case and saved my business. Best experience with an attorney I ever had.

I have not had to hire very many lawyers but this one I would not recommend to my worst enemy. Mr. Szilagyi made claims to the person that recommended him to me that the particular case i hired him for "was right up his alley". Well I am not sure what alley Mr. Szilagyi woke up in every morning but i...t was definitely was a very dark alley in a brand new world because he was clueless of the case in hand. Mr Szilagyi was very confident and also stated that he would be able to complete the case for about $3,000.00 total. The final bill was way over $15,000.00. I had to pay for the court sanctions against him plus many other things that he did not make me aware of the majority of the happenings in the case. The only aggressive offense that was performed by Mr. Szilagyi were the interogatories that i had constructed for the defendant myself that he copied and pasted word for word and used. I am quite certain if Mr. Szilagyi was asked what the difference was between a lawyer and a shark he would come up with a either a very animated answer or he would be just as clueless as he is ineffective. This attorney is a classic example of why attorneys get a bad rap.
